What's New

4-6-09

OK, I recovered from the virus infection, so where the heck are the updates?

You may have noticed a drop in POAC activity over the past week following the previous week of even less activity. While the virus situation is repaired, there are some developments I need to make everyone aware of.  Since we've shed the Bush regime, interest in the POAC has dropped significantly. Sales from the store is almost non-existent and the site gets a fraction of the visitors that it used to.  Essentially, I think many of our supporters and members have taken the position that our work is basically done here. I disagree. There's always going to be corruption in government and corporate America, and we're going to continue exposing it. However, since the Project isn't as robust as it was, I'm scaling a few things down and redirecting my efforts.

What we're losing:

I'm going to stop rebuilding the archiving system. No more archives. If you want to archive our work, you'll have to save your copies of the (almost) daily newsletter.

Updates will likely be 3 times a week. I'll explain why in a moment.

What's staying:

(almost) daily newsletter

Website

Message board

Quarterly newsletter

Why the change?

I've made the decision to enroll in college again full-time. I'm studying business communications focusing on web development and visual communications. Essentially I'll be studying to be an expert at web design, flash animation, photoshop, and other skills that will improve the scale and reach of the POAC in the long run. With things slowing down and less demand for my services, I'm seizing the opportunity to improve my skills and make the POAC a stronger force in the alternative media industry. Additionally, to help provide income for the Project and myself in this down-time of POAC activity, I've started a freelance web design business: www.lemartianstudios.com. I've already picked up a few clients and my time is becoming more and more scarce. The POAC isn't going away, but it is going to be scaled down a little while I work on improving my skills.

Until next time, Be well.
