Why Support the POAC?

The Project for the Old American Century (POAC) is an Iowa based grassroots organization with the goal of providing a free online news aggregator and media archive with a focus on government and corporate corruption and other assorted progressive issues. To meet this goal through the maintenance, development and distribution of free content, we rely on public donations and sales of our merchandise to run our grassroots projects.

The POAC provides daily news headlines culled from thousands of sources, published via both the website and through an email newsletter. Aside from news headlines, we also archive published reports and documents, audio clips and video clips. Additionally, we offer syndication of our headlines for other blogs and websites and provide an online discussion forum open to the public. The content of these projects is provided to the public free of charge.

How your donation will help

Visitors are not charged to read or use our content. We rely almost entirely on public donations and sales of POAC merchandise to fund our projects. Our growth in traffic and content requires regular hardware updates to prevent outages without sacrificing functionality. Other outgoings include bandwidth costs, news and media subscriptions, software costs and upgrades, payments to volunteers and researchers, and, occasionally, travel expenses. Other costs are pending, such as filing articles of incorporation, but our small budget doesn't even allow for that to be a possibility in the near future.

Donations are not tax-deductible.
