This prescient fictional future history was published in 1996.
Among the many of its predictions that have already come true are
that in the year 2000 the Republicans would elect as President a
not-too-bright candidate totally beholden to the Christian Right; that the
first identity group they would demonize and go after with a vengeance
would be the gay and lesbian population of America;
that the 2004 election would be won by an entity known as the
Republican-Christian Coalition; and that especially after that election
their ultimate goal of ending Constitutional Democracy as we have known it
for 200 years would become more and more clear every day.
Doris
Colmes, author of The Iron Butterfly, who as a child lived
through the first five years of the Hitler Period before escaping in 1938
with her parents, has said of the author, "How did he KNOW that?
How did he KNOW that this was gonna happen? Man, he wrote that thing
ten years ago, and his info. is so up to date, it's scary."
Even scarier
is what the pseudononymous “Jonathan Westminster” predicted would come
next. How did he do it? He has said:

Right had already told us they would do if they ever got to power; the
policy and rhetorical trends of the Republican Party as it moved ever
further rightward following the Goldwater revolt of 1964; and the history
of Nazi Germany. |
