It's my understanding that only the majority party in Congress has subpeona powers. That's why we saw the incredible run of witch-hunts under Clinton. Republicans had the house. Travel-gate, whitewater, file gate... they just kept launching investigations until they found something that would stick. In that case, it stuck to a blue dress.
Seems to me to be a pretty bad set-up, disallowing a preventative measure for a one party dictatorship.
Exactly! The majority during Clinton made much about THE SPOT. One little dang spot!
And the minority during Bush can do NOTHING about tens of thousands that have spilled their blood!
Something is very wrong with this formula that allows so much waste of time on irrelevant matters, and not enough proper attention to the vitally important ones.
The criteria for balance-of-power needs to be addressed and reformed!
