Odd that I stand alone as being the only no vote on all three questions. Despite my personal preference for Gore, I do not confuse my wishful thinking with reality. What I want and reality are two very different things, and the two seldom over-lap. Gore will never be President if for no other reason than that I want him to be President. Not that the Democratic Party would choose him anyway even if he wanted to run.

Gore, being progressive, is seriously out of touch with America. Gore at this stage is not willing to play the political games and mince words to do what it takes to even conduct a successful presidential campaign. The fact that he is outspoken on progressive issues makes him a bad candidate.

Now why am I the only person to recognize this?

I'm with ya AFW.

I think that the DNC/DLC wouldn't ever allow it to happen.

The Democratic Party would sooner run Joe Lieberman than Gore, as sickening a prospect as that is. You can bet that the feelings of progressives will not be considered at all in their decision-making process. They want us to vote for them instead of the Republicans, but then totally sell us out after they get in office. As much as I dislike the Republicans, I so want to see these Democrats punished.

If Gore decides he doesn't want to run again, it won't because of the DLC, the DNC, or the RNC. If he decides not to run again, it will be because of what the press did to him last time.

If Gore does run, the DLC wn't be able to beat him, the DNC won't be able to beat him, and the RNC never could beat him. If Gore runs, only the press can beat him, just like they did in 2000.

Perhaps you don't remember that silly season, when the press corp spent the entire campaign making up inane stories about Love Canal, Love Story, inventing the internet, doggie pills, ect. in order to paint Gore as a big fat liar. Meanwhile, they fed us daily pablum about how Bush is genuine, and a real people person, whom everyone would love to go out with for a beer and a burger.

Hell, Margaret Carlson even came out and said they just did it for fun, because they though it was good sport to ridicule "the smartest kid in the class". I know the whole thing made him sick, and I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to go through that childish bullshit again. But, who knows, maybe he will decide the country needs him so badly that he will suffer those bunch of immature assholes once again.

I agree Shoe. I believe he's one of the few true patriots (and the smartest kid in the class) who would run if he feels that it would best serve his country. And I think he would win more decisively than he did in 2000.

I would vote for Gore, but I know he will not, could not, and dare not. But if he did I would vote for him.

I recently read that Gore's friends say he is more likely to run if Hillary throws her hat into the ring.

I hope he does. I pray he does. America needs someone we can lifts are eyes to and listen. Some one capable of leading us and someone worthy of following.
