Full Version: Which Oil Company Is The Least Evil?
OLD American Century / White Rose Society message boards > Political Discussion forums > Politics In General
Jack
I want to know who i should be buying gas from now. I avoid Exxon and Mobile stations at all cost. The one that i would see as least evil, at this point, is BP since their CEO gives lectures about the dangers of global warming. But, does anyone know of an oil company that is not quite as evil as the rest?
MasterMind
Buy Citgo, it is owned by the Citizens of Venz.

I looked into it and they are now my new oil company( its just like picking the person who is going to rape you). They do appear to be the least evil and from i can tell have the lowest profits( a mere $34 billion a year). They make about 1/10 what other oil companies make. Except for Marathon, they are right there with Citgo.

Everybody support Comrade Chavez, my fellow Communist hero.

I have been buying Citgo exclusively for some time. They are the only major oil company which is not a part of the global oil cartel. Furthermore, Chavez uses the profits to benefit the poor in his, as well as those other Latin American countries. Many Carribean Islands would be completely destitute without the system of barter he has instituted in which he trades oil for whatever products and/or services those countries can supply.

That is the real reason Bush and the oil barons want to overthrow him, and the reason Bush has sanctioned Venezueala. He is trading oil for something other than dollars.

Link: BUSH'S DEEP REASONS FOR WAR ON IRAQ: OIL, PETRODOLLARS, AND THE OPEC EURO QUESTION

Iraq was one of the first OPEC countries, in 2000, to convert its reserves from dollars to euros. At the time a commentator for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty predicted that Saddam's political act "will cost Iraq millions in lost revenue." In fact Iraq has profited handsomely from the 17 percent gain in the value of the euro against the dollar in that time. <9>

Meanwhile Hugo Chavez has been taking Venezuelan oil out of the petrodollar economy by bartering oil directly for commodities from thirteen other third world countries. Although this has not yet qualified Venezuela for official membership in Bush's "axis of evil," the heavy hand of the Bush Administration in the recent coup attempt against Chavez was only too obvious. (See "Venezuela Coup Linked to Bush Team," London Observer, 4/21/02, for details about the roles of US officials Elliot Abrams, Otto Reich, and John Negroponte.)[/quote]

Venezuela promises discounted heating oil and free eye surgery to U.S. poor
MasterMind
Shoe you are right and guess who now wants to convert to the Euro? You got it, Iran and Venezuala.

Master Mind, you will be glad to know that i am spreading the message about Citgo. Those greedy assholes at Exxxon will get no more of my money.

You may also be glad to know that in a few months I should get off of gas all togeather.

Not Bush. He'll always have lots of gas.

Citgo is definitely preferable, but since there is not one anywhere near where I live and because I'm on a very tight budget, I usually have to settle for BP (Arco) or CostCo. I guess at least CostCo is unionized... although I don't know who they purchase their gas from.
MasterMind
Hmm....CostCo or BP, that is a tough choice.

Good to know JoS, there was a thread somewhere about how to support Citgo and all its branches. I cant find it though, I looked for an hour almost, It might be gone.

I noticed one big oil company which was not on the list of donors.

That's just another reason the neo-cons desperately want to bring down the democratically elected government of Venezuela, and replace it with right-wing plutocrats. The Republicans want to get their hands on more oil money for their campaigns.
