Jack
Have you ever thought "What if our side is wrong and their side is right?" What if everything we say and believe is wrong and we really are acting irrational and senseless? What if George Bush truly is the greatest president in American history, the republican congress is working for us, and Iraq is a bastion of Democracy. What if we are the delusional ones? Maybe we are being deceived by the democratic party and the republicans are the ones who can save us from it. What if everything that Rush, Colter, and Hanity say is absolutly correct. Just think about it eek.gif

Maybe i should stop drinking.

Gadzooks!
No, Jack, I have never, even in my darkest moments, thought "What if they are right and we are wrong?" Not drunk or sober, not under threat of not getting laid, not in a confrontation with a pair of agitated ex-marines on a freeway overpass, not in a bad dream. I have occasionally thought "What if I am wrong?" but never thought "What if they are right?" Not even for amusement, not even...just not. If I ever do, perhaps I will take up drinking.

The glaring problems of both capitalism and conservatism are proof enough to me that they are wrong.

Homeless people in the streets getting ignored tell me that they are wrong.

CEO's making hundreds of times more money than the workers who allow their companies to flourish prove to me that they are wrong.

All these things and more show me that they are wrong.

You can sleep easy JOS, they are dead wrong. When Hitler's war was over the popular saying was "the end never justifies the means". Germans loved Hitler at first because of what he promised for Germany, but his means ruined the promise. Bushco and PNAC operate exactly the same way as Hitler... they may have lofty thoughts & "noble causes" but their means are demonic evil.gif

The closest I came to this Jack, was during the run up to the Iraq invasion.
I thought about the mushroom cloud threat and said to myself, "what if?"

Tain't never gonna happen again Jack!
Fool me once, shame on me!
Fool me twice, er, uh, hmmm, wha.....
The point is, can't fool me twice!

That was the closest for me too... and then afterwards, when we knew it was all lies and that Bush used unilateralism instead of UN rules and regulations, I realized that the UN uses the word "imminent" for a reason. It has to be a clear and present danger, not "what if" they had WMD's.

Even if a kid thinks he "might" be picked on by a bully, that doesn't mean he can break into his house and beat up the bully in his bedroom.

Or torture the bully to death and then burn his house down.

I want some of whatchur smokin'. Sounds like it might be a trip.

I was not decieved by either side. I heard all points of view and decided where I was at. You know there is no fucking way that Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh and Bill O-Reilly, etc, etc, etc is right. How can you even contemplate that?

Exactly. And remember, Saddam Hussein was not our bully! We were told a pile of stinky do-do that he was our 9/11 bully, and more lies about WMD, and then it turns out that there is not one connection , NOT ONE, between him and Osama bin Laden, AND NOT ONE WMD!

It would be like somebody beats you up in high school, and then you decide since you've always liked another bully's car that DIDN'T beat you up, so you go beat up the wrong bully and steal his car!
In the meantime, the bully that beat you up gets away, but you don't care, because you got a fancy new car!

PS Rambling on here, but the point I'm trying to make is, it doesn't matter if the Republicans think they are right and we are wrong... they are proven LIARS , they are a culture of multiple corruptions, they resort to dirty tricks that are party-line and yet detrimental to the nation, and they allowed themselves to be hijacked by NeoCONS who do not follow the United States Constitution .
They also developed a Rovian scheme of spin which has spun out of control into oblivion. They cannot be trusted from this point forward because they have not one iota of credibility left whatsoever.
