Impressive!

The Orginization of the down loadables really helps make it "less crowded".

Thanks. Now a queston about something I've been struggling over...

What if I quit doing this:
http://www.oldamericancentury.org/archives.htm

The time and energy it takes to maintain this is immense. I'd still have archives of every day's headlines, but not grouped by category. Only grouped by date. If I could end doing this, I'd gain a few hours a day to work on other things like multimedia files and flash animations. What do you guys think? Is it worth continuing?

My opinion?
Yeah, that's a very nice reference page.
Would be a shame to lose it.
I mean, if yer looking for information on a particular topic, presto!
Otherwise, ya gotta do the searching.

I like the page, but understand the resources are limited. Tough call.
Is there any place else to find an archive sorted by topic?
Or is this something unique, and therefor that much more important?

No.
Yes.

*sigh*

Dammit. I know it's important. It's what sets me aside from places like buzzflash and other spots. But now I know why they don't do it. It's monotonous, time consuming, and a royal pain. But it's pretty indespensible as a resource. I guess I'm stuck doing it. It's really handy to see everything that we've covered on a certain subject. Especially when it goes back more than a year.

If I quit doing it, I don't think it would hurt our traffic, but that's not what we are about. We're about educating and countering the mainstream fake news media.

Oh well.

Thanks for the input. All I needed was one person to say "keep it".

Seems you might need more Lefty's bawling.gif

I'm a righty, so yer outta luck here! tongue.gif
I'd volunteer, but I don't consider myself that dependable for your needs.

I would guess it would help a lot if the forum didn't need as much "Management"
I'll do what I can there Boss. I make no promises, but you have my word I'll do what I can!

I'd say, the users can use a search to find what they are looking for.

I'd rather see more multimedia and whatnot, and if you need more time, stop doing the archive.

Personally, I never go there.

I use the archive for talking point battles against people in my community. I would love if you kept it around and if it ment that it would stay I can help out some. ( Though I am a very busy man) It would mean less posting from me her though and that might please some. rolleyes.gif

Could you have someone create a "tag" slot for you?

That way you could "tag" articles/videos and then they will default to that category? Less labor intensive, prolly more expensive. It may be time to bill-pay by allowing a sidebar of ads for like-minded sites.

I like the organization of the page, it would suck to lose it.
POAC
Yeah, that idea with the "tag" will probably happen when I do the change over to a totally new way of managing the site. Right now it's not possible and no amount of Leftys or volunteers can help me speed up the process, since it all has to happen manually here in the office. I'll keep it, as is, for now and just tough it out until I make the change-over and have the archives automated. The sucky thing is that I spend so much time doing the site already, that I can only scrape up about 4-5 hours on Sundays to learn the new program. But it'll hapen. I've stuck it out for almost four years. A few more months won't kill me.

We're pullin for yo and the site TJ.
We'll help when we can. (usually) wink.gif
