Some sort of heat would help alot. We have a heating pad that goes in the microwave and makes moist heat. Also, I sat next to a girl on an airplane who asked the stewardess to fix her up 'ear cups' for take off and landing cause she had ear pain - a couple of paper towels soaked with HOT water, squished into the bottom of a plastic cup, then held over the ears so you look ridiculous. But she said it helped alot. Dr. Gott's column recently mentioned warm "sweet oil" (no idea what that is), a few drops in each ear, but this may just be a variation on the heat principle.
Hope this helps!

Great idea. I have sweet oil and completely forgot about it! (It is actually olive oil in some form). Hell ya, I'm going to go heat it up right now!
THanks, Ping, you rock!!!
