Due to the fact that I have been threatened with being banned, I am going to simply lurk here now, using POAC simply for information and no longer actively post in the politics sections of this message board.

Everybody here knows my political thoughts / feelings. Despite the fact that this board is supposed to be an open exchange of ideas, I have come to feel that some ideas are more welcome than others.

Until a climate emerges where I feel comfortable posting again arises, I'll simply lurk.

Thanks to everybody here who has engaged me and helped me broaden my own ideological horizons.

There is not a lot of consideration to be done about the hostility and implications in this venom-filled rant directed at me.

Despite my best efforts, I have still been unable to convince some people here that, despite living in Japan, I should have an equal and fair say in the discussions that go on here at POAC. This rant really drove it home for me.

I have been here for a while now, and in the time that I have been here, I haven't seen a post like this directed at another member, especially somebody who is not considered to be a "freeper" or "troll" by a majority of the members here.

Then, to have this followed by a PM stating that I should be banned, and that efforts would be made to ensure that this comes about, along with comments that my goal is to have the POAC shut down is too much.

Do I live in Japan? Yes.
Am I an American? No.

Does this mean that my contributions should mean any less? I don't think so.

Until I feel that steps are taken to ensure that I will not be banned simply for expressing my opinions here, and that I can be treated with the same respect as the other regulars, I will just be lurking.

Thanks again to lefty, MM, AFW, Soon, wire, ping, and everybody else who has made my stay here an enjoyable one.

I asked you before what your vested interest here was, mistakenly public at first (apologized for that publically too) then we PM'd and worked it out. I understand you are tired of explaining yourself, but sometimes people dont understand, especially because you advocate "Revolution" quite a bit. After all, if a revolution did take place uhhh, the guns pointed at us would be many miles from you.

Nevertheless you have good inputs on many ideas, and maybe if you explained now & again like you did to me, people would understand you better. It sucks, I know, but if someone from England, who was living in Nigeria, strted posting on YOUR web page, telling you to revolt in Canada, part of you would say HUH?

That said, as the voice of reason; I hope you stay or go on YOUR choice, not because someone disagrees with you. Your a good-hearted man, basically, and we would miss you.

Edited after reading last nites posts: Scorp...on the eve of kicking bushco's collective butt, why would you dissuade voters. Americans are no "lazier" than anyone else in the idustrialized world...its called SURVIVAL INSTINCT and humans dont put themselves in harms way unless things are fairly dire in their lives. Voting is revolution; non bloody type!!!!! I can see why ya piss people off with this crap....you'd be miles away from danger when it started. Scorp, I have been threatened with banning before because I disgreed with some guy about micro and macro evolution. He thought I was just some random Christian preaching AGAINST evolution, when I tried to correct him, he pulled out good 'ol rule #7.



An obvious abuse of power. Did it bother me? Hell yes. Did it stop me? Hell no.

Everyday we get stomped on by those bastards on the top, so lets not stopmp on each other, especially when the content of the arguement itself was over how to deal with said bastards.

Can we agree from here on out, just using the world Revolution, does not mean something violent?

So , I guess the only true answer to "that" word is, the context in which it's being used defines "that" word.

I imagine peaceful siteowners are hesitant to have even a hint of any violent speech for fear of being shutdown by the powers that be over them (are there any ? I really don't know if FCC or anybody regulates the internet at all... from what I have heard no, but my understanding is the local authorities can take action if violent speech is perceived as a threat... correct me if I am wrong on the legalese of this). Of course, no authorities regulate PNAC at all, giving them carte blanche to plot wars for everyone to see. It must be very frustrating for peaceful siteowners to know this>>> that such plainly explicit violent speech is ok for the powerful and elite . So, since "that" word can be taken two different ways , can we agree on the term , for future conversation's sake :

Who was this that threatened you with banning? It was either someone who has been removed or didn't have banning power.

and rule #7 is not an abuse of power at all. If you ran a forum, you'd know why that's important. There are people who purposefully disrupt forums by starting a "rebellion" against the administration. I've dealt with it numerous times with right wingers posing as lefties and people who were trying to drum up membership to their own forum. If it doesn't result in a mass/minor exodus, it disrupts the flow of information and turns the forum activity into a discussion about the functioning of the forum and not the important issues. And finally, I don't have time, energy, or patience to have to explain the actions I take on my own fucking forum.

Regarding Scorp, If you feel you have been slighted, talk to me about it. I'm pretty sure this can be dealt with in a manner you feel fine with.

If I had something to say, and was banned for it, they'd have to chase me out with a stick. That being said, I do not publicly advocate any violation of US law or decorum here on POAC. I may hint, but that's as far as I take it. I am a guest here. It is TJ's house, and TJ's house rules. I don't wish to break or even bend them. I like it here, and rcorporon's posts are one of the many things responsible for that. As far as rules go, I only need one...don't poop where I eat. Not that difficult.

About the word "revolution".
It's not good to assume anything,
and it'very very easy to add one single word in front the the word "revolution" to make your intend crystal clear.

Peaceful Revolution, wasn't that much more difficult to post.
Election Revolution, just as peaceful, and much more direct to a singular issue!

TJ, The user was someone named Don something and he had admin under his avatar.

Also, I poorly worded that statement of mine you quoted. I did not mean the rule itself is unfair, I ment his use of it. Please correct me if I wam wrong, but I thought it would have been an abuse of power for an admin to use that rule as grounds of a personal disagreement and not one about board issues.

He said that rule appllied with disagreeing with their personal opinion in any matter, whatsoever.

I remember that. He wasn't an admin. He had some other custom name that some people mistook for an admin. But he wasn't. I can think of his real name but not his forum name. He was a douche. He did that a few times to a few people and i called him on it. i must have missed it that time. Yeah, every now and then we get regular members threatening to have people banned. That never ceases to amaze me.

The reason he was talking tough was because he was the cyber-lover/stalker of one of our admins. So he thought he was big shit.

You are probably right. It's been a few years and I've always wanted to talk about what happened since then I had to present my "public face" and just keep my mouth shut and wish them well. I got shat upon and it feels good to get it off my chest.

It's a trade paper that the online forum adminstration union distribributes for free to it's members. It's free and it's a paper. So we call it a freeper.
