Scrop...you'd best calm down. First of all, you aren't even an American citizen. YOU can't vote for ANYTHING, one way or the other, to make anything change in AMERICA. You left your own country to work in JAPAN, and you've been lamenting the fact that you might have been made REDUNDANT and that you might have to go back HOME, so don't get on your high horse and LECTURE us AMERICANS who ARE trying to make changes peacefully, quietly, and consistently. YOU know nothing about any of us. YOU KNOW NOTHING about what we're doing when we're away from this board. YOU KNOW NOTHING about any of us, and don't forget it. We do not advocate violence of any kind on this board. You can either get that through your thick head or you will be BANNED. Got it?
There is not a lot of consideration to be done about the hostility and implications in this venom-filled rant directed at me.
Despite my best efforts, I have still been unable to convince some people here that, despite living in Japan, I should have an equal and fair say in the discussions that go on here at POAC. This rant really drove it home for me.
I have been here for a while now, and in the time that I have been here, I haven't seen a post like this directed at another member, especially somebody who is not considered to be a "freeper" or "troll" by a majority of the members here.
Then, to have this followed by a PM stating that I should be banned, and that efforts would be made to ensure that this comes about, along with comments that my goal is to have the POAC shut down is too much.
Do I live in Japan? Yes.
Am I an American? No.
Does this mean that my contributions should mean any less? I don't think so.
Until I feel that steps are taken to ensure that I will not be banned simply for expressing my opinions here, and that I can be treated with the same respect as the other regulars, I will just be lurking.
Thanks again to lefty, MM, AFW, Soon, wire, ping, and everybody else who has made my stay here an enjoyable one.
