I'm not too confident that we will do it this year either.

With the Dems doing nothing to gain the support of the un-decided voters, I'm not holding my breath.

Don't worry , be happy, JOS... there will NOT be a staged terrorist attack in 2006. Even Cheney is not so arrogant to think that something like that would go below the radar of the American psyche. He saw the result of his shooting incident, the whole world treated it like a terrorist attack, because nobody knew Cheney was a hunter till then. Good grief , he shot his own friend in the face! A staged terrorist attack would be the end of the NeoCONS Administration AND possibly the end of the Republican Party. People knew Bushco was full of shit over the Dubai Port Deal because there was NO WAY Americans would tolerate a nation (purposefully or inadvertantly) that supplied terrorists and Al Quaeda money to do 9/11. The majority of Americans are on to Bushco now, because Americans have followed the money. Bushco is about CORPORATISM not about National Security. They are too greedy to purposefully stage something that would shoot themselves in the foot (so to speak) and hit them in the pockets. The Senate and the House from BOTH parties would not be fooled by a staged terrorist attack. The Republicans are starting to fight back at Bushco for the first time after this Dubai deal, and there is no going back now thumbup.gif

I can see the polls right now and i see that the dems are up from anywhere between 11 points and 15 points, which they have been for quite awhile, and yet i can't shake the feeling that in september or october it will be a dead heat or the dems will be down. A lot can happen in eight months and you know the republicans are not going to go down with out a fight, when it comes to fights, that is when the democrats start backing down. I have seen it so many times in my short life and it seems like there is no chance that they will ever win anything.

You left out the choice I was looking for and think will happen:

The Democrats will gain seats in the House and/or Senate but will not regain control of either of them. In other words, they will have more people, but the Republicans will still have control. I would like to have Democrats in control of both House and Senate, but I do not see it.

I do not see a terrorist attack staged in the US in 2006. I do not see a real terrorist attack in the US in 2006. I see a real terrorist attack in the US in the future, maybe even after Bush is no longer in power.

I tend to agree with AFW on ths one.

The Dems will likely not have outright control, yet.
But the process isn't expected to be trhat quick.
Gaining control of either house is to be hoped for,
but isn't terribly realistic!

If the Liberals gain seats in both houses,
gain govornerships, and gain on the local levels,
then the stage for 2008 is set much more in our favor!

With Bushco's popularity dropping farther and faster almost daily,
the Repugsd have been putting distance between then and bushco.
This means it's much easier for the Demo's to get two, three or ten to vote with them.

In fact, as I said else where, I would consider it quite possible the Repugs will take the lead in the Impeachment parade!

As a Republican today looking to get reelected,
I would think the most certain way to guarantee this,
given the way the wind blows for Bushco,
I can think of no better way to guarantee an election!

A Republican that says he can't stand Bush, would be a shoe in!

Elections will be rigged. Repubs will hold in house and gain in senate. People will protest obvious fraud for a week, then give up. Cheney will sneer. Halliburton will steal. You know the drill.

There's always hope.
MasterMind
That sould be Diebolds new slogan!!!

"There is always hope."

I think we got a real good shot at the senate. Unless Delay's gerrymandering is overturned the house is almost an impossibility (it might help if the bastard is convicted). Governerships look good and is a positive sign for the future, it all starts in the states. Yeah, then there's Diebold. It might sound naive, but PLEASE make all the noise you can about this.
