A lot of followers of Madame Blavatsky here, Krishnamurti-ites, Jewish Buddhists, Jewish Sufis, wannabe Indians, Theosophists...and many of these people adopt exotic sounding pseudonyms. Khanun, Snow Deer, Saki...I guess Bob and Mary don't sound spiritual enough. I decided I needed a new name to keep up with my peers, and poke some fun at them, so I became Gadzooks! Bazookian. Gadzooks! is an old oath, like swearing, coarse but politely so, and is always spelled with the exclamation point, and Bazookian sounds middle eastern (Armenian, kinda). I've been using Gadzooks! on boards ever since, though I have also made an occasional appearance as Mr. Smarty Pants.

I thought of mine at Afterdowningstreet.org right after Downing Street Memos came out in May 2005 in the London Times. I thought , well the only reporter is British, so I wanted the Brits to know that we Yankees are very greatful to them for reporting it (since American MSM didn't) and that we also have had enough... thus the handle "yankhadenuf".

I know ... this nickname must be a guy thing or somethin' That always happens with this handle, so when I introduced myself at the Welcome thread I said "I'm yankhadenuf and I'm a girl" just for the record ... gee whiz , why does everyone always think I'm a boy!
