6) If W gets more power for the executive, how can you be sure that a Dem. president won't enjoy having the same amount of power?

The first "b" in your post should be a capital "B." Also, the first sentence of your post is not proper, as it contains a few serious grammatical mistakes.

Next, I'll post what I think are the answers to my questions. Maybe you'll join me in the "discussion," seeing as how this is a place for that activity.

I think that things will continue down the current path, although with a new president, things may not be as out of control as they are now.

2) If the Dems win, what will happen?

Hopefully they will try to fix the damage done by Bushco, but they'll have a lot of housecleaning to do on their own as well.

3) If the Dems manage to win in 08, what's the long term plan?

I'm much to ignorant of domestic US issues to even try to answer this.

4) How do you deal with the "vicy dems" who are useless?

This is a question I've been posing to sky for a while. I don't see a solution to this aside from simply not voting them in in the first place. If you re-elect somebody, they won't change their ways, because they don't have too.

5) What do you do about the Patriot Act?

I don't know enough about US law and the process around getting rid of bills to be able to answer this.

6) If W gets more power for the executive, how can you be sure that a Dem. president won't enjoy having the same amount of power?

This is the biggie. People like having power, and if somebody finds that their power is expanded, will they give it back willfully? I doubt it.

Sky, you have no plans to change(reorganize!) America or the World? This is kinda what being a progressive is Sky. When something better comes along, we change, we re-organize, we move on. If you do not see, Sky, that many people on this board want SERIOUS CHANGE RIGHT NOW, then maybe you should question your understanding of not only what I am saying, but the rest of us.

We want to take over the world to Sky, just when we do it, we will make it free. Freedom is what we want to take over the world, that is hte America dream we wish to export around the world. Not this bull shit both Democrats and Republicans are given us.

We are usually quite nice, and logical.

For some reason the past 2 days have been an all out war, with MM, Sky and myself being the main combatants (although we're not alone).

However, I don't think that this kind of thing is bad. If we all agreed, things would be boring here, and we'd all be simple clones of each other.

No side of any argument is ever in 100% agreement. Sadly, you have just been here long enough to witness some of the gaps that exist between our beliefs. You haven't seen what happens when we all agree on something (and some wonderful things have happened on this board, the discussion about US culpability in the nuking of Japan thread was a good one, and ended quite peacefully with a member chaging their views on something!).

This place is wonderful, and I love coming here. Sadly, for hte past two days, things have been a little rocky though.

Now that sky (and maybe others) have added me and MM to the ignore lists, I suspect that this place will get quite dull, and it will change into a:

Yes, screwed electronic voting is a serious issue,
and I do not mean to minimize that reality in any way.

The thing is, that's an issue of corruption by a select group of people.
That's a question of catching them, and removing the machines.
This reality contributed to Bushco's back to back victories,
no doubt about it!

But the basic reason Bushco won both times,
is because the liberals are a fractured collection of individuals,
each with an individual idea and voice.

And as long as this is the case,
