Bear with me,
I wrote this as a response in a different forum to the Repugnicans that populate. It seems they love, er . . . enjoy cajoling their opponents into a rage. It's like a political orgasm for them. So I had to let some fly . . . redface.gif shifty.gif redface.gif

Now,
While I can agree that we all can be full of ourselves, a-hem-mmm
Moi included,
Something just doesn't sit right.

Question:
What's this endless fascination with; The New Republican value system?

The system that endorses the ideas of;
Power
Control
War
Irresponsible Spending
Restrictions
Blood
Torture
Espionage
Lawlessness
Criminal Negligence
. . .
Need I go on?

This isn't just meant to be directed toward just you Keith.
So I apologize if I seem to be pointing a finger at just you.

I point my finger at ALL those that see the Republican Party,
IN IT'S CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS AND DISARRAY,
As acceptable and feel compelled to defend items,
As I listed above, as being anything good,
As a positive element to the character of the Party, itself.

Those are becoming character associations of the Republican Party,
LIKE IT OR NOT.
And ,
Like Lincoln once said,
"When you have got an elephant by the hind leg, and he is trying to away,
it's best to let him run
"

OUR president has run away with the values of the Republican Party.
I say OUR president because even as a Liberal Humanitarian that votes Democrat,
George W. Bush is my president too.

That list above was one prescribed, if not all, most of that list
Buy the Republican Party when referencing the Democratic Party.
The methods at which are debatable, but mostly through a coy
Demagoguery of the masses. A litany of names come to mind,
both faithful and faithless. And some, possess both.

With names of Rush and Robertson and O'Reily, O'RLY?
They've demonized how the Liberals are.
Be it Democrat, Green Party, or others.
If it stands for diversity and individuality,
Nonconformity and secular wisdoms,
The Pit Bulls are let loose.

But now, those negative stereotypes that have been cast around,
Flung like a booger with a prayer that it will hit and stick on it's target
Have somehow begun to land on the flickers, themselves and their Party.

Once, the Republican Party used to ware their pride on their sleeve,
Like a merit badge, proud to believe,
That it was they, chosen by their God, to lead this Nation of Peoples,
Into the 21st century. God Bless America.

But this pride is not pride at all. It is known as vanity.
But who else could be vein enough to stand in defense
Of the same values that which were once picked out
As immoral values unbecoming of YOUR Party.

Your Party is not becoming what you loath, Nye.
For that is to say that it can be warded off.
As if it is in the making, becoming, but not yet.

The Cooks and Crooks of the Republican Party
Have made a recipe for disaster.
Like a cake, once the ingredients are mixed,
And it is placed in the oven, You can not unmake it.

"I claim not to have controlled events, but confess plainly that events
have controlled me
."
Abraham Lincoln

It is a dawning of a new America,
and we all are responsible, TOGETHER.
To right this wrong, this injustice to
The American Democracy.

But for us to work together
Republicans must wake up.
Wake up to their own reality.
The Reality that is them.

You can not fix
What you can not acknowledge.

So when our president lies,
Be it big or small,
Each lie is significant
In and of it's self.

For each is a tell.
Like in poker,
A tell belies your hand.

A lie is a lie
Nothing more
Nothing less.
It is what it is.

And to defend that lie
Is to defend the character
Behind that lie. The one holding the hand.

Be it a lie on taxes, or pork, military
Reasons to war, or spying, or renditions.
A lie is a lie.

Let loose the elephant
Drop this fascination
Lest we become through
The protection of the lie
A Fascist Nation.

So,
Republicans one and all,
Look deep inside and to your Guide
And ask yourselves if it is wise,
To become what you once loathed.

Powerful and controlling,
Restricting freedoms in this
Long War on Terrorism.

Warmongering, manipulating
The money to the machine,
Into the silk lined pockets
Of every big business in between.

Disaster after dilemma
Brings the next disastrous dilemma.
The Republican Party magnet
Invites the single mom to be pregnant.

But then that's more blood
Shed, spilled in the streets.
With each bomb dropped in Iraq
It explodes over New Orleans streets.

Compassion, conservatism, Christian?
I see none of that.

Compassion for those worthy.
Conserving from those that need it.
Christian is as Christ did. And He didn't
Terrorize his followers with ideas
Of hate, fear, death and destruction.
He left that to the Pharisees and scribes.
Read Matt 23

As a Nation,
It take a village
To raise a child.

As a person,
It takes each one of us
To raise this Nation.

"It is not merely for to-day, but for all time to come that we should perpetuate
for our children's children this great and free government, which we have enjoyed
all our lives
."
Abraham Lincoln

"Let every American, every lover of liberty, every well wisher to his posterity,
swear by the blood of the Revolution, never to violate in the least particular,
the laws of the country; and never to tolerate their violation by others
."
Abraham Lincoln

"If all do not join now to save the good old ship of the Union this voyage
nobody will have a chance to pilot her on another voyage
."
Abraham Lincoln

"If by the mere force of numbers a majority
should deprive a minority of any clearly written
constitutional right, it might, in a moral point
of view, justify revolution
."
Abraham Lincoln

Max,
You are asking the $64,000 question> why does Bush STILL retain 37%. Nobody seems to understand this degree of blind loyalty. I could understand if he retained 1% because the billionaires of America will never leave Bush, NEVER, even if he became full-blown fascist right down to detention camps in our own backyard. There will always be that 1% of greedy bastards. But Republican loyalty seems to be even more of a very sociopathic thing, apparently. If you have read any "red-blue" maps, many of this 37% are in Utah and Idaho> what's up with that? I don't know. But I'll keep snooping around to try to figure out the self-destructive hold-outs of the last "reds"

Very well done Max.
I'm impressed.

Coupla questions.

What did you get for replies?

And you seem to be offering compromise to them.
Screw that!

Their rats on the ship of crooked fools.
Tie their tails to the main mast
and let them drown with the rest!

Well the person who started the thread was the Keith mentioned in my original reply.
The forum is over at a game site, city/society builder game.
Although it is a society builder, they are a bunch of, . . . um . . . how does one say this politely, PANSIES.
They avoid politics like it is a plague.

So this Keith, starts a thread to echo a former thread among some of the members that actually enjoy the frivolity of political debate. In this former thread, people reduced to name calling and pathetic labeling. The original thread title was: "Sick of libtard lies and distortion?" Libtard; the blending of liberal and retard. I, of course disapproved of the distortion and character assassinations through the bigoted dispersions and associations of a demeaning arrogance toward a handicapped person: retard. But the topic was inviting the issue of why this poster hates Liberal views that equate Bush to Hitler. I just had to chime in.

So, Keith introduces another thread topic, about a supposedly non-violent game, called "A Force More Powerfull" A game that endorses Fascism and the military state.

He titled his thread, "For all you leftist peace-mongers out there... "

His reply to my reply? If I can even call it a reply, "It's so easy to draw you Democrats out."
Still does not answer the bigger question. What does he support?

And another person, who is a Christian Conservative Coalition sympathizer, but doesn't out rightly support the Republican Party platform, yet has been known to argue in defense of the Administrations decisions as being just, chimed in with issues about how the poll numbers aren't that bad. That Bush is up to 41%. And I reminded him, "41% Ain't that successful there. Don't too excited Phil.
You're eagerness to defend your looser is a "tell".
That you Republicans don't have any other higher Authority to guide you,
Save for your president.
And last I checked, even 41% is on the looser side from the majority.
"

QUOTE("Phil")
I also have but one guide and I think you KNOW who it is. In the end, it's all going to burn, so I "lay up my treasures" where they should be and here isn't where that is.
So I had to reply and appeal to him and his "KNOWN guide". Saying, "Don't belie your responsibility. If I may present my other cheek for your back hand, it was you that stuck your nose in this mess. And now you kick at me for pointing out the flagrant inconsistencies not only in your position, but in the Republican's too? What does that say about your character then? Does it match what you want to project?" I was attempting to appeal to him, one compassionate Christian to another.

He quickly P.M.'d me.
QUOTE
When you finish reading my reply (as I know you're on), don't think I have anything against you or Mark. We just differ in views. As you noted to Keith, I'd like to say my view of the ONLY way to true peace is through strength and victory. You can agree or not, but that's me.

As to my knowing you're on, even though you use invisible mode, the number of users on line gives it away. There is but one other besides you who does it, so I can tell if you are on.

Sincerely,
Phil

My reply, again appealing to him, Christian to Christian...
"Phil,
We're allowed to differ on views. That's part of being human. However, may I remind you, that when you say, "The ONLY way to true peace is through strength and victory" the question needs to be addressed. Whose strength begets what kind of victory as a reward. Military strength gives you death and destruction, oppression and enslavement. Christ's strength gives you the the ability to find guidance toward God. And Christ was about compassion, not war. Love, not hatred. Acceptance, not isolating.

Now, I know you would like to believe that Bush is a Christian, after all he did present the image of Christ as his personal savior and role model, but anyone can say that. Only true Christians live it.

And granted, being president isn't going to elevate a person to an exemplary position, however, listen to his words. They resemble the words of a mislead Christian, who believes it is a far greater thing to wage a war than to resolve to find peace.

The Catholics did it to the Muslims during the middle ages, and The Bush is doing it today. Stop and examine it. Just because he said so? Does that make it so? And if it does, doesn't that belie the Word of God and the message of Christ?

If Bush wasn't a self proclaimed "Born again" Christian, then it would be unjust of me to hold him up to the Light. But he did it, himself. He held up the Light, and proclaimed, by the Glory of God, I have been called to lead this great country. He has stated, unequivocally, that he is doing God's will. But that does not give him license to wage war, oppress people, endorse the enslavement of Muslims.

It is what it is,
no more no less
no matter the person he is,
it is the perversion of the word of God.

And by his own definitions and actions,
He too is an extremist, radical Christian.
No different that those that he hunts down to kill.

Compassion tells me to have the courage to walk in the other shoes. And that same compassion tells me to walk with the less fortunate, the oppressed, the lost and cast out before siding up with the self righteous. Remember, Christ lived among the undesirables, the inflicted, the lost, and broke bread with the perceived cast aways and not with the Pharisees nor the Scribes. That took a level of compassion we all need to subscribe to. We could all be better for it.

Think about it.
"

LOL,
His reply, Let me get back to you. unsure.gif

And Sky,
I truly believe that this isn't a US vs. THEM
A Republican vs. Democrat issue.

It's about Democracy vs. a Fascist ideology.
Our president is acting like a terrorist among the people of the world.
And he has presented the people of the word with a choice.
"You're either with us, or you're with the terrorists."
But my observation and gut tells me he forgot what side he is on.
He is asking us to choose,
Between Democracy or terrorism.

And I choose Democracy. It is Democracy that through laws, keeps me safe and provides me my freedoms.
And our president proposes something more perverse, . . .

FEAR.

He proposes a better way to stay safe and free.
War = peace.
Orwellian, no?

The only way to crush him, is to bring the Republicans into the fold.
Respect their differences they bring to Democracy, itself.
Be brave and point out their hypocrisies, for it is what has lead them astray.
Blindly lead off the cliff. Like the good Sheeple they are.

I wish not to play into their hand and play by their rules,
For their rules have given us the Patriot Act, Civilian Surveillance Programs, Warrentless wire tapping of American citizens on US soil, torture, detentions without charge and indefinitely held without representation. The Republicans are a lost and are a dying breed if they remain in this rut.

Yes, it can be seen as a compromise. If it causes one Republican to stop and question their Party, I have done my job.
