In celebration of Women's History Month, the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center, Honor's Program, and the Women's Studies Program invite you to attend the presentation "Women: Builders of Communities and Dreams" - Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 7:00 pm in the Colvard Union Ballroom. Our guest speaker is the 1960's feminist activist and author Gloria Steinem. Undeniably one of the most important voices of the modern feminist movement, Steinem's name is synonymous with the advancement of women's social equality in America and throughout the world.

I'm envious - I've always adored Gloria. Her essay about what Freud would have written if he'd been a woman is a brilliant (and hilarious) piece of work.

I am so excited and surprised. MS is way not feminist friendly. I'll be going by myself. But I will be so proud. I honestly can't believe I'll hear her talk. To me she is a living legend.

If there happens to be a recording of her speach, I will buy it and post it here for anybody who wants to hear it.
I am honestly giddy about this.
