I have another name that i need help pronouncing. This time it is Shah Pahlavi. The man who ran Iran until the 1979 revolution. I know how to pronounce Shah but not the guy's acutal name. Need this info by noon tomorrow, so get cracking.

Shah Reza (just like it looks, pretend there are two z's, accent first syllable), Pahlavi (again, just like it looks, accent the second syllable). One of my massage clients had been a senior army officer in his regime, and fled to the US when the Shah fell, and Khomeini rose to power. He had scars where most of us don't even have places for them, and used to make his wife go down to the basement parking lot of the condo they lived in to start the car, while he sat at the dining room table with his fingers in his ears. He feared that someone might plant a bomb in his car. He also seemed to have unlimited funds, and was very secretive about everything.

Question Zooks.

Granted the US had no business supporting the Shah in the first place,
but,
Carters decision to let the Shah into the US for medical treatment,
In your opinion, was that a stupid bone head thing to do?
Or was it, knowing Carter, purely an act of compassion?
MasterMind
Zooks, when are you running for office? Fucking something, anything.

Jimmy Carter saw the writing on the wall re: the Shah of Iran. It was an act of compassion and a political gesture for the rest of the world...that we don't leave our puppets to twist in the wind when the show is over. Poor Jimmy...turns out we do. Hell, we even provide the wind when it is lacking.

I knew you would see it that way.
Carter had what is so rare in politics.

Integrity!

And because of it, Reagan was able to make a deal with the Iranians
so that the hostages would be released on the day of his supreme crowning.

The Iranians had no idea just how much Cart was not their enemy,
and how much Reagan was!
