QUOTE
Democrat John Kerry is asking county elections officials to allow his witnesses to inspect the 92,000 ballots cast in Ohio in which no vote for president was recorded, a Kerry lawyer said Sunday night.

The request is one of 11 the Kerry campaign made in a letter sent over the weekend to Ohio's 88 county boards of election, which will begin recounting presidential ballots this week.

"We're trying to increase the transparency of the election process," said Donald McTigue, the lawyer handling the recount for the Kerry campaign. But he added that several requests -- such as using independent experts to check election equipment, "are trying to push the edge of envelope."

I too want to know what took him so long, but believe it or not, I have heard Democrats make the remark, we should just let this go. In other words, the Democratic Party sounds like a bunch of sore losers once again if we pursue the recounts in Ohio, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico.

I do not agree with that apathetic attitude of rolling over and playing dead over this. In my opinion the Democratic Party is dead if we do this. However, the Democratic Party is divided over how all of this should be handled. There are those fence-riding pacifists who do not want a scene over this.

What John Kerry's true position is on all of this, who knows? He's not talking. I do think it is significant that Bush was launching a major frontal attack in Fallujah the next day, and I would love to have been sitting with a set earphones somewhere listening to the conversation between Bush and Kerry when they talked on Nov. 4th. Whatever was said between them, I think we all were told a tiny portion of the conversation.

If I'm allowed to speculate, I'm guessing Bush told Kerry a couple of things. That U.S. voters already questioned his patriotism over Vietnam and his voting record and statements about the war in Iraq. That he would set his attack dog, Karl Rove lose on Kerry if he took a stand against him over the election count on the eve of this attack in Fallujah. And I'll bet he pointed out the Supreme Court is in his back pocket still if he needs them and that he wouldn't hesitate to call in that collateral again if he needs it. Of course, we all know I am just speculating. Still I would have loved to be an eavesdropper.

Y'know...I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

But then, we're not dealing with normal people here. BushCo is a MAFIA. They probably threatened with even worse measures.
