Curiosity Question: How many of you have the American flag flying somewhere on your property?

I used to. As soon as they became available again after 9/11 I put one up. I took it down a few months ago. I told my husband the cloth had becom faded, but really I was feeling so disillusioned and down-hearted about the whole thing, I just couldn't endorse what is going on in that way.

I know what Sky will say. Yeah I still love my country. I just wish it would straighten up so I could be proud of it.

I only fly my Flag on Flag holidays.
MasterMind
I do.

During the non-winter months I have the two Betsy Ross style banners hanging outside the POAC headquaters as you see in my avatar, but they hang in the office during the winter.

I took mine down when it became tattered, right after the 2004 election. I've not replaced it because I'm afraid its visibility (I live on a hill that is visible from the moderately populated valley below) will make others think the people who live in my house support the Bush government. wry2.gif

One thing I saw the other day within my neighborhood that really surprised me, considering I'm in an area that is saturated with ultra-rightwing, Republican Christian fundies. On the lawn of a house that is on the main highway, (less than a mile from my home) there is a very large, wery well-made homemade sign. It says: W and Laura BUSH: MURDERERS!

clap.gif I've got to find out who lives there....maybe slip them a POAC Newsletter! biggrin.gif

I only fly my flag on flag holidays because it's 5'x7' flag.
It blocks my kitchen view, and it gets beat around too much.

Though I do have a lighted x-mas light kinda flag that's in the window all 365. It's only 1'x1.5'

Not me smile.gif

In Canada we don't usually do that kind of thing.

It's more of an American thing.

Japan is the same. No "hinomaru" (The Japanese flag) for me.

I noticed in Denmark almost every house had a flag, the end of every dock. It just seemed like a wonderful thing.

I wouldn't dream of flying the red white & blue anywhere on my property, but that's mainly because of where I live. It used to be cool to be an "American" in Europe. Nowadays, it's better to keep your nationality to yourself as best you can. Thanks guys ! The world just loves US now.

Inside the house, we have a US flag, a Scottish flag and a German flag hanging on various walls........right up there next to a big-assed poster of Frank Zappa on the potty. tongue.gif Uh, and btw, the US flag is upside down....a sign of distress. ohmy.gif It'll stay that way until things change back home.

In my house I have a large Canadian flag and a large Soviet flag.

What would a capitalist flag look like? Just a solid color field with a $?
rcorporon
It would look like 13 red and white alternating stripes, with a field blue with 50 white stars in the upper left hand corner.

Sorry, that's the flag of MY country, and my country is about much more than capitalism.

The flag of a Capitolist country would have the logo of which ever corporation or company is the strongest and most dominant.

Welcome to the Nike United States!
