George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld are flying on Air Force One. The President looks at the Vice President, chuckles, and says, "You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out the window right now and make someone very happy.
The VP shrugs and says, "Well, I could throw ten $100 bills out the window and make ten people very happy."
Not to be outdone, the Secretary of Defense says, "Of course, then I could throw 100 $10 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy."
The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot, "Such arrogant asses back there. Hell, I could throw the three of them out the window and make 56 million people really happy."

And somebody needs to tell W. that the US doesn't have a $1000 bill. Your highest denomination is $100 I believe.

Here is a genuine $1000 bill

The largest denomination ever printed.

Large bills are not in general circulation for practical reasons.
7-11 will not make change for a $10,000 bill so you can get a slurpie.

Yeah, those say "Federal Reserve Note" Is that the same as a regular bill?
In Canada we have:
Coins
------
0.01
0.05
0.10
0.25
$1
$2
Bills
-----
$5
$10
$20
$50
$100
$1000
But the $1000 is now out of circulation, and old ones are to be brought back to the bank.
$100 bills are not too common, as most places won't make change for them.
Japan is a whole different matter. They are a cash soceity, and will change ANYTHING.
They have:
Coins
------
1 yen
5 yen
10 yen
100 yen
500 yen
Bills
-----
1000 yen
5000 yen
10,000 yen
I often walk around with the equivalent of $400 or $500 in my wallet, simply because debit cards don't exist here, and you need to pay with hard cash for EVERYTHING.

All American Money is issues by the Federal Reserve Bank.
The Federal Reserve Bank is a private corporation, and NOT part of the Federal Government.
It's a hold over from the robber barron days,
and is a very interesting story with strong political overtones.
Especially in the Bush Government.
