I don't follow sports at all. Nada. I'm an art geek who never even learned how to play the game. But I like how pro sports pulls people together as a sort of social institution. And even though I don't know how to play football, I can throw a mean frisbee.
I never played sports in High school.
Well, there was the one year I went out for track.
My event was speed walking.
I was actually good at it, and usually won!
The only sport I actively participated in was snow skiing.
That's because it wasn't a school sponsored sport!
As to the Hawks?
If you live in the Seattle area you becaome both a Husky fan and a Hawks fan.
Just like in Denver, if you don't dig the Bronco's, they run ya outta town!
It's a local thing.
Besides the fact that my local leam, a team that has a very long losing record
and because of geographics has a very hard time getting any respect,
and becausae of this is always the underdog,
I'm looking forward with great anticipation to the 2006 Winter Olympics!
