I'm currently learning macromedia studio MX. I've got the macromedia studio MX bible and just started dabbling in freehand. I'm wondering if anyone here has any familiarity with it. I can ask the gentleman who got it for me, but I'm curious if anyone here knows it.

I have a Dreamweaver tutorial style lesson book you can borrow.
If that will help.

I'd be silly not to take a look at it. That'd be great. I'm putting a package together for you, today, BTW. That disk we talked about and some other stuff

when I get home this evening I'll get the book out, then look it up on the net

so you can see what book I'm talking about!

It's an excellent lesson book done in tutorial style format.

My intentions were, and still are, to just do a lesson or two in a regular daily way.

Then do it again. The second time it'll seem familier!

I just got busy with soooo many other projects!

Check this thread this evening after about 6 this evening west coast.

If you want it I'll ship it UPS tomorrow.

will do. Thanks!

Dreamweaver3 and Fireworks3

IPB Image

The book is about 2 inches thick,
because of all the screen shots and other graphics

If this will help, PM me a send to address.

I also have Java 1.1, Photoshop 5.5, and a basic HTML series on VHS tape.

Are you high-jacking images from Amazon?

TJ, I use dreamweaver to build my sites. I know very little about it but I manage to get by. Started using the built-in ftp part two weeks ago. Way cool. At first, it's like learning to walk but you'll quickly get the hang of it. Feel free to drop me a PM or mail in case you think I can help. As a handshake, I'll then be coming to you for help once your level of knowledge surpasses mine. tongue.gif

Thanks Jay, will do. I spent 4-5 hours learning flash today. i think it's safe to say that my brain grew three sizes this evening.

You're already ahead of me. I haven't touched on flash yet. CSS is another thing I really need to investigate. A couple of weeks ago, I was sure I could write a book on "hot to get lost in dreamweaver".

yup. I know what you are talking about. But I'm not really ahead of you, it's just how I learn things. I'm an abstract learner rather than linear, so I'm learning all of them at once: fireworks, freehand, dreamweaver, flash, all of them. I go through about three levels of the tutorials and then go on to the next program and then spend the evening reading Macromedia MX Studio Bible. I really dug into flash yesterday (and will this weekend) and it was funny because before you can do the tutorials in flash, you have to go to the "lessons" which seem to me to be what I would have learned if I had already completed freehand and fireworks. It sounds inneficient, but that's how I teach myself stuff.

It's all about what ever works.

Personally I prefer the tutorials. Can't stand book learnin.
I'd much rather learn how by actually playing with the buttons.
