Full Version: Group Protest Play Depicting Jesus As Gay

Next up, they'll be protesting a play in which Jesus is depicted as merely HUMAN. 
I remember the fuss they all made over "The Last Temptation of Christ", too. It was an excellent movie, spiritual and humanizing at the same time. But because the Jesus of the movie was truly human, and sexual enough to DREAM on the cross (during a hallucination!) about being married to Mary Magdalene, they screamed and fussed.
Yes, heaven forbid that Jesus should actually show evidence of having a PENIS...

wow...they call the police in scotland when they think someone has committed "blasphemy"?
You know what i don't like? Those christmas nativity scenes with a plastic baby jesus...they really make the whole savior thing really cheap. I guess i'll call the cops and get all the little plastic baby jesus rounded up.

funny, our local churh nativity scene had their baby jesus stolen!
i thought it was very fitting- after all, repugs have been stealing jesus for about 20 years now!
now- as to the protest- while the government should not get involved in such an issue, it is perfectly okay and understandable for christians to protest that play.
we can't pick and choose whether free speech is protected depending on whether we agree with the speech or not.
i believe in free speech no matter what the opinion of the speaker.
there'd be less violence from right wing freaks (abortion clinic killings, etc...) if we (the left) didn't try to oppose their right to speak and protest.
free speech is the true religion.

Maybe those plastic baby Jesuses (Jesii?) wouldn't get stolen if they used real babies.

Oh yeah, so true, I can't help imagining how'd they react to "Jesus Christ, Superstar", they's have a fit to that play and movie....
