Hey, I'd rather see dupes than miss stories...and this was a good 'un.
It just shows that we recognize an interesting story when we see one.
Besides, both in different forums and at different times.
Better chance not to miss it. (I miss a lot.

)
Not to disagree at all with you, but to put it out there for further discussion, I hope Dean doesn't go near the DNC...they stabbed him royally in the back. Plus, IMO Dean has a snowball's chance in hell of getting the DNC chair. I think it would do him more harm than good to be shackled by those assholes anyway.
There's a draft Dean movement but that makes no sense to me. Either he wants it or he doesn't. No need to draft him if he wants it and I'll support whatever he chooses.
http://www.mydd.com/story/2004/11/16/1140/6673It will be awarded to the best ass kisser and that's not my Howard; the one I worked my ass off for and got the message from in person.
The "fix" is in. And it ain't Howard. Just like he didn't stand a chance of getting the nomination. Kerry was selected a couple of years ago. Another Bonesman. We were fucked from the start by our own supposed "leadership" from hell.
We shoulda seceded from the party back then.
Now, we've got to pull together and not do what they want....go to the center. Fuck that. We need a NEW Democratic party. One that stands for our true platform, not this puke bullshit they feed us.
Tell 'em whatchoo think again:
http://www.democrats.org/feedbackReally let loose with both barrels on #7......I did...it felt good.
But, as usual they won't listen to a mere voter without millions at my disposal. I'm not holding my breath. It just might be time for a third party. I never thought I'd say this but the DLC acts like Repuke Lite and I'm ready to move on. I've had it with being disenfranchised. Fuck them.
On
Crossfire Bowtie-Boy called MoveOn a "LEFT WING FRINGE GROUP" so I guess that makes me a set of bangs.
I'm sick of trying to GENTLY explain to the DNC that they're assholes. This has gone on since 2000 for me. I've told numerous DNC and DLC reps how I feel and they just don't get it. So, they GET no more money from me.
We don't NEED them...we raised a TON of money for Dean, Clark and Kucinich without their tainted help.
I've told them so many times and for such a long time....they just don't listen.
The DLC completely let us down.
I'd hate to see Dean, Clark, Kucinich, et al lose their autonomy by joining up with that cesspool of greed, log-rolling, and vested interests.
Begala today totally let us down too...he said that McAuliffe has done a great job. Yeah, right. And he also said this was "an impressive victory" for Bush. Is he on Acid? We need some REAL fighters and we have NONE on teeeeeveeee.
Just Ben Dover and Jane Swallows.
The transcript...enough to make my Liberal/Progressive blood boil.

ANNOUNCER: CROSSFIRE. On the left, James Carville and Paul Begala; on the right, Robert Novak and Tucker Carlson.
In the CROSSFIRE: rebuilding the Democratic Party. Party leaders gather in Florida to regroup and consider their next moves in the wake of withering election-day losses. What kind of future do the Democrats have? And who is the right person to lead them?
Today on CROSSFIRE.
(END VIDEOTAPE)
ANNOUNCER: Live from the George Washington University, Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson.
...
PAUL BEGALA, CO-HOST: Hello, everybody. Welcome to CROSSFIRE.
Democratic Party leaders are meeting this weekend in Orlando, Florida. They have a big job ahead. Not only do they need to begin the process of finding a successor to outgoing DNC chairman Terry McAuliffe. They also need to begin to set the party on a better defined path toward victory.
TUCKER CARLSON, CO-HOST: Actually, at this point, any path would do, any path at all, because the Democratic Party is in shambles and headed nowhere at a rapid clip. That may be good for America, but it's depressing for the four or five sober Democrats still left in this country. Can the Democratic Party pull out of the hole it has dug for itself?
But, first, the best political briefing in television, our CROSSFIRE "Political Alert."
Now, who runs the Democratic Party these days? It's a question that some Democrats have been asking for months, often out loud. We now have an answer. MoveOn.org, a left-wing fringe group that exposed even the war in Afghanistan, runs the Democratic Party. We know that because they have said so. Yesterday, the head of MoveOn's political action committee sent an e-mail to supporters attacking outgoing Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe.
(Um, fuck you Tucker!)Quote: "We can't afford four more years of leadership by a consulting class of professional election losers," he wrote. He went on to say: "In the last year, grassroots contributors like us gave more than $300 million to the Kerry campaign and the DNC and proved that the party does not need corporate cash to be competitive. Now it's our party. We bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back" end quote. That's what they said. And the scary part is, it's all true.
BEGALA: Well, I...
CARLSON: They own your party, Paul. They say so.
BEGALA: Well, I agree with that in part. I disagree in part.
No, first off, Terry McAuliffe has been a great chairman.
(CROSSTALK)
BEGALA: It's a chairman's job to raise money and put in infrastructure. There was no technological infrastructure for the Democratic Party.
CARLSON: Doesn't winning play a role, too...
(It might you sunuvabitch, if you didn't STEAL elections!)(CROSSTALK)
CARLSON: I like Terry McAuliffe, but let's be real. Let's be real.
(CROSSTALK)
BEGALA: He did his job. No, it's the candidates' jobs to win. The candidate's job is to articulate a message. Senator Kerry didn't do that. And I don't blame Terry.
He was a great chairman. But MoveOn did a lot of good as well.
(CROSSTALK)
(BELL RINGING)
CARLSON: The fact is, the fact is, money is for winning. That is the only measure in politics. Do you win or do you lose?
BEGALA: That's right.
CARLSON: And he's lost.
BEGALA: He didn't lose. John Kerry lost.
(CROSSTALK)
...rest at link...pissed me off anew to read it.
And speaking of Kerry....after he conceded and did his duty for the BFEE where the hell did he go? I'm pretty angry with his failure to stand up for us.
I see Dean is out there making speeches but not Kerry.
Additionally, Holy Joe has spoken; kiss of death for Dean IMO, but you be the judge:
Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT), on Dean: "To rebuild this party, we need somebody who's more in the center, and more of a bridge-builder. I don't have any particular choice for that, myself. It's a job that's going to be a tough job. But, with all respect, Howard Dean is not the right man to lead the Democratic Party now."
More Lieberman: "I think Tom Vilsack would be a better choice, if he's willing to do it. He's a moderate. He's from the heartland. He's credible, I think, to all sections of the Democratic Party. And he'd be one that I think really could take the party forward"I don't think it's going to be Vilsack either, more likely one of the latest trial balloons. Martin Frost (D) Texasss or Rosenberg, they're kicking around a bunch of names....but I'm often wrong.

So, in answer to Ronnie's question, 440 (morons) get to decide FOR us? I hate them all. The DNC/DLC lost their souls a long time ago.
More about the process:
They meet this weekend to "discuss" it in
the banana republic of Florida!! http://www.democrats.org/about/leadership.htmlCurrent DNC Leadership
