Let me know what problems or criticisms you have and I'll look into them this weekend.

The new reply form is ugly.
MasterMind
It has flagged all the messages as unread for me, so for me to have them unread again and not highlighted, I have to reread them all. Which I am not going to do. Its more an annoying then anything else.

click on the "unread" icon. That should chnage it to "read". Does that help? I'm assuming you are taking about the flag buttons.
MasterMind
Got it, thanks!
rcorporon
Here's another problem. Two jerkoffs have been posting nonsense for the past 3 days. Please fix it smile.gif.

I'm working on adding some custom skins, so that you can change the entire appearance of the forum. Give me some time on that, though.

BTW, that font is the font that the Project for the New American Century uses on thier logo.

I didn't mean the font. I meant the skin. Glad to hear that there are new ones coming down the pipeline.

You should make political image based skins. So, I could have little hammers and sickles everywhere.
sky of mind
The ignore feature seems to have issues.

Not sure what it is, but a member on ignore is now visable, though the name is still on the list.
TheVinegarTaster
My time stamp issue seems to have been resolved, and the icons once again change when there is a new post in a thread, so things look good to me.

I like that the PM pops up in a new screen when one comes in, which I assume is new as it did not happen a few days ago.

Over all, TJ, I like the changes and appreciate how smoothly things went during the transition. Nicely done!

sky of mind
Many more fonts,
a virtual pallet of colors,
bullets and lists,
indent and text justify.

I see many more ways to be creative.
More I have yet to discover.
And that pleases me!

Edit to add....

The length of the post title isn't as limited!
It can be muuuuuuch longer now.

You can now put colored text inside the quote box.
POAC
RC, If you want to look around for any invision power board skins on the net and let me know which ones you like, I'll see about getting them uploaded.

Sky, VT, thanks for the kind words about the new features. I'm pretty amazed, myself. I'm still finding bells and whistles and the admin control panel is a novel in itself.

as for the two jerkoffs, I'll keep an eye on them. I've been too preoccupied with the upgrade to really pay attention to them. From what I've seen so far, they seem lacking in social skills, but not really break any rules. And since they don't flood the board, I don't see too much disruption. But Like I said, I haven't been able to pay close enough attention. I'll do some scrutinizing as soon as the site is uploaded. Speaking of uplaoding the site, my internet was down for a few hours this morning, so I've been basically twiddling my thumbs since 2am. Needless to say, the update will be late today.

Also, Sky, do me a favor. Take the jerkoffs off ignore and then put them back on. Maybe their old posts will show up, but not the new ones. See if that helps. If not, let me know and I'll look into it.

that's all for me. I'm off to do the newsletter.

oh yeah. One more thing: I need someone to find me the little emoticon of the exploding mushroom cloud. It's the only one that I don't have replaced.

It's not ugly. It's appearance challenged

Hey TJ, one thing I am still noticing; when I click on the OLD American Century / White Rose Society link at the top of the page, and on the heading for the Society, Religion and Education forum I get the following error message:

Call me weird (reality challenged?) but that just doesn't seem quite right...

Ahhhhhhh... now to go watch TV reflect upon my perfectly functioning forum

I'm still trying to figure out the error messages. This may be a task for tech support.

things work perfectly when I click there. I still get an error message when I click this one, however:

I second that statement. Most definately. The BugMeNot extension is a godsend for my line of work.

VT, I don't know what to think of that issue. i'm still working on it. So are you able to access the Religion and Education section at all?

Did you clear yer history?

And by the way.
I prefer Netscape. Always have!
IE is so last decade!

Yes, but I have to click on the last post, then scroll to the bottom of the page for the forum selection bar and hit the "go" button to get the the religion and education thread index.

As this does not seem to be a universal problem, do you think there is something I need to try on my end, and if so, what would you suggest?

NO WAY, Firefox is far better!!!!

;0

I personally love it and try to share the word of firefox with everyone. it's my savior.

As far as code goes, Foxfire is another IE!

Netscape sees code the Netscape way
MasterMind
I normally use Firefox, but the past week I have been on my old machine, since my new one I bought for my freaking internship died on me and its like pulling nails to get the company to fix it (still havent)...anyway it is a sentive issue right now. Just know I am on a piece of junk and I am only running the bare core.

FYI, TJ, and because I didn't want you laying awake nights worrying about my acces to this site, my husband had me delete my temporary internet files (whatever the hell those area), and this fixed the problems I was having.

All is working as it should!

I'm trying to wrap my head around this idea of, what did you call it, paying attention? Meaning that you think I should actuall read all the responses when I've asked a question, or some such nonsense?

Sky, you're such a funny guy...

Oh you're more than sufficiently special, I just haven't the time! How are you, who work full time, able to post as much and as often as you do! Sky, limits imposed by the numbers of hours in a day require that I skim many of your posts! wink.gif

As to laughing at all my jokes, one can never laugh too loudly, or too often!

About the amount of time spent posting.
At the moment the Forum has my full attention.
That's because my personal circumstances make it possible.

Soon summer will return and with it will come the desire to be out in it.
That will diminish my post time, but not eliminate it.
I still believe in the job we're doing here.
Small as it may be in the over all scheme, it's no less important.

I would also imagine that eventually something will come along that will either demands my attention,
or will be so attractive as to solicit me without coercion.
In which case and at which time, I may become quite scarce around here.
However for now, this is what I do.
For now, this is teaching me things in ways I could not have imagined 5 years ago.

Fate decides what paths will be available for me to choose from,
when fate decides it's time to offer them.
