Please don't misunderstand my reason for asking, it's unbiased and I respect the opinions you've expressed here, but how are your political beliefs recieved in Japan, or more generally, how do they view communism? How about in Canada? Sometimes you seem quite proud of the parliamentary system you have there.

In Japan there is a viable communist party that holds 3 or 4% of the seats in the diet. Most of the other teachers I work with are lefty's, and two of them are communists.
In Canada the Communist party are nuts, and I don't agree with them on most points. THey hold 0 seats in parliament, however, Canada tends to be a nation of liberals and socialists, as seen by our awesome health care and whatnot.
I'm proud of our parliament system, as I feel its vastly superior to the system in the US where a president is basically untouchable.
