I choose the BBC. The first time I saw a BBC newscast it floored me, and I've never turned back.

Canada's CBC is a close second.

Damn, sky, you ALWAYS beat me to the punch.

I still vote POAC. No one else comes close.
POAC
hello

Definately the POAC, but we don't produce much original or exclusive content... YET. I'm working on that as we speak.
Real Leftist
I havent seen much foreign news, the best one I watch on a regular basis is CNN.

Much of the MSM doesn't produce original content either!
In fact, more and more the MSM gets their news off the Internet!

Just like me!

I'd have to go with any international news broadcasters; American media is filled with propoganda from special interest groups and U.S. news is filtered by our government. I know this because I've known some people from France who all said that they learn more about what the U.S. government is up to from their newscasters in France than here in America.

I don't think that POAC is a real news organization. I consider it to be a superb gatherer of information.

I don't mean that in a bad way!

I agree, rcorporon. As I consider news to be unbiased reporting of facts, POAC would not qualify any more than does Fox. The information here, though thought provoking and relevant, is often based on opinion and is definitely skewed to the left. Like you, I do not find this in any way bad, particularly since TJ has never claimed to be operating a news site, but has been wholly up-front about the purpose for POAC. For all that I admire the work done here and have learned a great deal, I view news differently than I do much of the information shared here.

I don't find any single news organization sufficient, thus I tend to cruise several outlets, but I do find that I rely heavily on Al Jezeera. They have a surprising lack of bias and some outstanding reporting.

I agree ... it's like a "family tree" of information, where all us forum members (family) gather news and place it here (tree)! BTW, my favorite news organization is a write-in > the UK Guardian.... they are always, I mean ALWAYS, mentioning the PNAC and/or the Henry Jackson Society (the UK version of the PNAC)

Who the hell voted for 'Fox'? I hope that was a joke. wry2.gif

During the drive to Bagdad in the Iraq War, my wife and I would switch back and forth between BBC and various US media outlets. The contrast was striking. It seems that BBC was actually covering the war. I never did figure out what the US news was covering.

During the invasion, the most striking aspect that i watched was
an American Freelance journalist with a satelite feed to one of the major
news networks.

He went down a main road, stopped to drive around in an abandond military base.
(Later we learned that tons of explosives had been dissapeared from this place and many others)
Then he and his crew drove into Tukrit, Saddams home town BEFORE it had been secured(?).

Eventually the locals figured out what was up, and this free lance news guy and his brave/stupid
crew beat feat as fast as they could outta town with bad guys chasing them,
even shot the rear window out of the SUV they were in.
The Bad guys quit chasing at about the city limits and eventually the crew pulled over
to check things out, and see if anyone was injured, and count the bullet holes in the truck!

All of this was LIVE and took several hours.
That was some dramatic TV news!

I would hardly classify that as "news." Sounds like reality TV (aka shit served lukewarm) to me.

I voted for the BBC. One recent example. Merkel's visit to DC and meeting with Bush. The US press reported it as a happy fun meeting. The BBC said she's going over there to talk to Bush about Guantanamo. Then they reported that she had done so and Bush wouldn't listen. The US press said NOTHING about Guantanamo RE this meeting.

Daily Show

Its a sad statement of affairs when a show on Comedy Central offers up a better newscast than most major networks.
Real Leftist
BBC probably, although I watch mroe CNN.
sky of mind
Generally I get most of my news from 2 general sources.

1) All over the net.
This gives me the immediate, all over picture.

2) All the various news shows on PBS
This give me the depth and detail I can only get on PBS.
