Hi everyone, love the site and forums.
I am a part-time student of Economics at a public college in Wisconsin and a full time employee of the public k-12 school system. I also represent my fellow employees as union president.
I participated in the grassroots orgainization of our local Dems for the first time this election cycle and I am hooked.
Peace out.

Welcome aboard! Between being the union prez, volunteering for the elections, working in education, and studying economics, it sounds like you've put yourself right in the middle of a whole lot of hot political issues. I'm glad to hear you're so involved, and glad you found us.
Again, welcome!

Hi Hooch!

That's a heavy load you're carrying. Working in schools is hard work...we tend to give so much of ourselves to kids...and rightly so. Plus going to school part-time.... wow....good for you!
Union work is also very demanding and takes a ton of diplomacy. I've been a union secretary and that damned near killed me.

I've been pissed off since Reagan got away with the PATCO union busting. Union power has been steadily declining ever since...as evidenced by the recent supermarket strikes here in CA. Workers lose EVERY time now. Grrrr.
Glad to see you....we're in for a bumpy ride. The more the merrier as we jostle our way along to winning back Democracy...maybe not so nicely anymore.

We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore.

Ah, wisconsin! You wouldn't happen to be around Madison would you? THat is a great town. My sister has lived there off and on since the early 80s, and i love it there. My neice is moving back to work on her masters . I've always said i would move there in a heartbeat but the winters are so darn long!
