VT,
Rad has said he was still in high school.
His posts seems to indicate this, except every now and then he posts something with suprising depth and insight.
If I were to quess, I'd say Rad is more than one person, but the Rad we see now
is a jr high kid from an afluent family who's playing the role of a communist and having some fun at our expense.
One of the many questions he has failed to answer was why he has chosen communism as his prefered political ideology.

OK, biggest ass hole ever.
After some considerable thinking on this subject, I'm still torn
between the guy that invented spam mail,
and the guy that invented that little doodad we use to hold the bread bag closed!
Spam mail is a force of nature. I think I kinda have to accept that one.
But that little bread bag closing doodad,
can you ever get it back on so that the bread doesn't get stale?
And if you do figure out a technique that works, how do you get a 16 year old kid to come even close to repeating the trick?
Hell, I guess I should consider myself lucky if he got it back in the fridge, and the door closed.
OK, so maybe it's not the bread bag closing doodad and the guy that invented it isn't an ass hole.
Ah well, hell!
I'll think about it some more!

At 15, I thought much like this Radical Liberal dude. Now older -- and wiser -- I look back and laugh at myself. Being a kid is great, but being an adult Capitalist is better. Got my first job at about 17, soon to follow was an idealogical revelation. Doing well now. Very well. All things considered, one must say, life is good. Very good.

I think we should give the young man who started this thread a little leeway. At least he's here and no doubt he's learning something which is positive. Perhaps with more respect paid to his views, regardless of whether we agree with them or not, he might realize as he grows older that we were right, and he'll be much more inclined to acknowledge that when the time comes. At least he's not a Bushie.
Rad's continued presence here will, hopefully, help him achieve many things, up to and including doing better in school subjects such as history and political science, while learning that dissent IS patriotic. He's here taking on us oldsters and asking thought-provoking questions while I'm guessing most of his fellow teens are doing nothing except perhaps pulling their puds and doing drugs.
Ok...I'll get off my soapbox, and say I'd vote for ALL OF THE ABOVE, but perhaps we could rank them from the EXECUTIVE WORST to the PACKING AND SHIPPING WORST.

Giving the kid leeway doesn't mean ya don't red flag him when he steps outta bounds!
Giving the kid leeway means you listen too and consider what he says.
But like all kids, the line he should not step over should be solid and consistant,
and when stepped over, which has to happen, after all he is a kid, that's what kids do,
then you use what degree of restraint is required for the circumstance,
and put him back on the correct side of that line!
Through this process, young people test their boundaries,
and discover who they are and what they believe in!
It's the first and most basic responsibility of parents and other elders,
to teach!
