I had to share this with you all.
I think it's an amusing social statement,
and I'd love to be able to ship a few of these (complete with add ons)
off to few select TV preachers and Politicians.

Ya, the stylish accessories were very interesting indeed.

Wow.

I have an idea that should please the Fundies!

Forget the use of condoms and other birth control methods,
forget even the possibility of abortion all together!

Become Lesbians!
MasterMind
You know, all my years of being a Neo-COn, rarely did we openly speak against Lesbians. Behind closed doors we even talked them in more depth.

For some reason they just hate male homosexual/bisexual types.

MM,
A prime example of social conditioning!
If you see two women holding hands you hardly think twice about it,
but if you see two men holding hands???

I'm curious,
what was it you used to do that qualified you to consider yourself a Neo-con?
And who is we?

Funny, but in other countries, when men hold hands while walking or talking, it is a gesture of friendship, and has no sexual connotation. Here in the US, we seem to sexualize everything. To the point of being obsessive. You would think that a society that chooses to be obsessive about sex would choose to make sex good rather than bad. How sad for us.

I believe it's our Christian Fundies
America is the most sexually repressed country in the world, bar none!
A wholy unhealthy denial of reality causing many problems they had hoped to elliminate.

Last night I watched a very good Biography of Lincoln on the History Channel.
It seems that even while Lincoln was president, he shared a bed with men.
My gawd, that means he was gay right? It must be, men don't other wise sleep with men!
At that time it was not uncommon for both sex's to share a bed with the same sex, and there was nothing of it other than they both were looking for sleep!

Seems odd to me. If two women hold hands, or dance together, or even share a bed, we don't immediately assume they're gay!

I suspect if religous fundamentalists were banished to the moon, it would take another 200 years
for us to completely lose the heavy over coat of sexually repressive guilt they have laid upon us.

That is a really good point guys. A sad point, but good nonetheless. Right now in Mississippi, it is illegal for a woman to breastfeed her child in public. BECAUSE it is assumed that the breast must signify sexuality=sex=bad, go straight to hell. Very ironic, isn't it. And so backwards. I listen to this super-great, unbiased show called the JT and Dave show (ok, I'm lying they are the weirdest right winged freaks on the planet) and the guys are in an uproar about the fact that right now there is a bill before our house to get the law changed so that its not illegal. And they are all giggly and retarded about it...making jokes about seeing women's nipples and the like. I personally think that the stigmas about sex, especially here in the south, are aimed primarily to keep women "in line", while allowing men to be overgrown teenagers about it.

This is true, and I've seen a lot of it here in Japan. Most of the HS boys I teach often are very "cuddly", as are the girls. I always see girls walking here hand in hand, and boys will often sleep on each other during train rides.
