Full Version: I Have Begun To Notice Something

Jack
I have been reading post, at forums such as this, from republicans for about two years now. Back in 2004, the republican's posts seemed to be very calm, thought out, and logical(for them), for the most part. However, over time and especially in the last 10 months or so, the posts have gone from civilized to completely off the wall, random, and quite vulgar. I used to talk with people who would debate me in subjects, usually quite civilized, they would clips from different news sources, and spend time thinking out their arguments. Now, that doesn't seem to happen any more. I went back to a bi-partisan forum, that i ditched for this place, for the first time since early April, last week. Most of the same people were there, democrats and republicans. The democrats seemed roughly the same but the once civil republicans seemed psychotic. Like they weren't even the same people. I would use my same style of debate that i had a few years ago but instead of getting well though out argument from them, on stories such as the bush spying bullshit, i would get responses from them such as "Fuck you asshole, this is bull shit." Basically variations of that.

It wasn't just that news story, it was just about any story, analysis, or opinion offered by our liberal counterparts seemed to get the same response. It hasn't just been there either. I have noticed it in other places, on call in radio shows, on other forums, even here he had a problem last week.

There are also republicans who are not doing this and these people have turned into my favorite republicans, the anit-bush republicans. They are every where now. I probably only met one in 2004, now i can find dozens with out even trying. A lot of these people seemed disillusioned with the current Republican Party in every way. These are people who are life long republicans who are considering voting democratic this year. They always seem to say the same thing. If the democrats can offer some kind of message or vision, they will get their vote.

I see this all as a good sign. First we have the pro-bush republicans(the few that are left), which seem very agitated, almost like they know that everything they have believed for the past 5 years is complete bull shit but they just can not let go. Instead they are now pro-what ever highly illegal activity the republicans are involved in. They can't seem to string together a coherent argument for the life of them and have basically resorted to school yard insults in an attempt to argue their point. Their ship is sinking fast but instead of getting the hell off, they have convinced themselves that nothing is wrong at all. They know what is coming but they can not comprehend it. Then, on the other side of the coin, we have the people who snapped themselves out of the fog that bush had led them into and are now looking else where for leadership.

Sometimes you don't need polls to tell you just how fucked the republicans are.

I have to agree with you Jack.

At work, a place where I have always been the token liberal,
the place where my coworkers who on 9/11 accused me of being pro-terrorist
because I voted for Bill Clinton, some of them quietly admit they made a mistake about Bush. But most don't say anything at all! When I wear one of my POAC t shirts to work, something I would not have done a year ago, those people in other departments who are liberal actually seek me out! And over all, but mostly in the warehouse, in this past year I have gained the power of respect, on a personal level, and as a coworker/employee.

I'm still underpaid, but we take our small victories where we find them.

I'm eager to wear my new "stand up" T shirt to work.
shoeless
That is the reason I no longer seek out debate with Bush apologists. I don't argue with my co-workers or friends who still support this corrupt regime. I don't go to right-wing or even bi-partisan forums. The remaining Bushists will not argue in good faith. They are beyond hope or redemption.

If they want to stick their noses into a liberal forum and regurgitate White House talking points and Limbaugh/Hannity propaganda (same thing), I will happily cut them off at the knees with the bright sword of reality. Other than that, I could care less what they do or say.

Again, I have to completely agree!

The more they talk,
the less you have too!

They make your point for you,
and you don't have to look like an idiot!

The wind is changing, can you feel it?

This couldn't have come at a better time. One of the fog dwellers posted this two year prediction. From now until George "Widow Maker" Bush leaves office.

"Now that the Iraq Elections and the War are winding down(Jack's favorite part) and the troops prepare to unpack their things for what would have been another deployment, Democrats have been shown to be full of empty predictions which are always the opposite of reality.
However, I PREDICT...That The President will find the next two years to re-establish the common sense cause of Rebuilding Social Security from the ground up. To include a form of Privatization.

The Democrats will Filibuster, (unsuccessfully) the next Supreme Court Nominee of the White House. They will be met with a Blindingly Fast Nuclear Option to force an up or down vote without the need for 60 votes. Result; Confirmation and Goodbye to O'Conner the fence sitter.

When these agenda items are added to the past successes of this President in National Security and Domestic Affairs Adjustments, The Democrats will be forced to run crying aloud, in vain, to the corners of their offices; "bush lied,,bush lied ,,bush lied,,bush lied...sniff,,why won't anyone hear us...sniff WHAAAAAAAA"
And this President will leave his term with the most successful Administration since Ronald Reagan. (Reagan being up until now the most successful in history)

Greatness through dillegence and belief in the American Way of Life has placed George W. Bush into the position of being remembered as the Greatest Man ever born an American."

Edit: I have something else. From the same person. Bush's Greatest Hits.

1.) Designated a joining of all intellegence gathering organizations under one roof.
2.) Inner City Elementary Reading levels up 47% in the first to years of NCLB due to the President testing teachers for competency and holding them accountable for teaching the kids of America.
3.) In spite of 9-11, Hurricanes, Floods and all manner of natural dissasters, the Economy is BOOMING strictly due to tax cuts by the president. (Also in spite of the FACT that Clinton's last 3 quarters of his term were NEGATIVE GROWTH) ; The very definition of Recession. Clinton's Ten Year "Projection" of a surplus was a myth.
4.) Bush has Freed over 38,000,000 people who lived in fear of their lives on an hourly basis in Afghanistan and Iraq. Women are back to work in those countries. Music can once again be heard (allowed) in the streets and homes of Afghanistan, where the Taliban had banned all playing of music or dancing.
5.) After the first Gulf War, (of which this war is only a continuance of due to UN Resolution violations), Saddam allowed only the infrastructure to his favorite Bath controlled areas to be put back in service.
Under Bush, the Iraqis have a Democratic Constitution, Infrastructures being rennovated for ALL IRAQIS across the country. Hospitals are being re-built and BUILT ANEW. Like the now famous Iraqi woman stated; "Anyone who doesnt appreciate what President Bush has done for Iraq, CAN GO TO HELL!!!!

I don't get the Reagan thing. At all. How is it that scum like Reagan has been described as such a wild success when he was among the most bankrupt and currupt leaders in history? Was the media absolutely asleep for 8 years? Did the Democrats not know what to do.... well, I guess history CAN repeat itself.
