We all harp on fox news for being very slanted to the right but does anyone actually watch fox news? It is horriable. That is the most slanted crap i have ever seen. They are talking about why we should have creationism tought in school, why bush is more popular than ever, why sping on americans is a good thing, all while terrorism warnings scroll across the bottom. Why do they even try to pretend to be fair any more? I think the secret is out.

Well I think it’s pretty well acknowledged by the politically aware, both on the left and right, that they tend to be slanted towards the right. But I’ve also observed that people who aren’t that politically aware don’t tend to care much one way or the other, and a lot of these people who watch them wind up adopting some of their viewpoints as their own.

Al lot of people watch Fox because Fox panders to their lower intellect.
Fox feeds on their base fears for ratings!

People who cannot accept that they borrowed more from the bank for this years seed and equipment, more than the whole farm was worth, and have done that year after year. Would instead find them selves a handy scape goat.

Fox is yellow journalism of TV news.
The bad end of a spectrum of information.

The more people become informed, the lower their ratings will go!
Fox news cannot function in the light of day.
That's why the Republicans work with them so well!

While I agree with your assessment on yellow journalism; and also on how better education would mean lower ratings for them (like if people learned to check sources instead of taking them for granted) I disagree that people watch it because it panders to their "lower intellect". I know some people who watch just because it’s the only news on at the time and just generally think to themselves that "the news is the news". It’s quite an erroneous assumption indeed but not quite "pandering to lower intellect", no?

Qualify it with the word "generally".

From me, most any statement I make should assume this qualifier.

This coming from the man who calls foul at others for generalizing?
