Full Version: Lavish Praise for the Admins
OLD American Century / White Rose Society message boards > Political Discussion forums > Announcements & Board Issues
snafu24
I wanted to take a second to thank the Administrators. This is the first forum that I ever joined and since then I have learned how much work it is to oversee a forum. Also, I cannot communicate how much I appreciate the daily news updates since I am super busy taking care of a house and kids. I am grateful that the admins (and Shoeless, Zooks, Sky, and too many others to list) have dedicated themselves to helping us educate ourselves and stay informed. I showed this place to my dad and he loves the news links too. I even turned my grandfather on to White Rose (he was a journalist and on radio and TV for decades). Mike Malloy is awesome; THANK YOU for helping me discover him. I think I'll be buying POAC shirts as Christmas presents... smile.gif

Yeah the POAC creators and it's fine little group of forum members here are just one great example of an alternate news site that has the guts to host the links to news stories that you won't likely see on CNN, MSNBC, and that dirty little right-wing chicken-hawk propaganda site run by Drudge.

Cheers... thumbup.gif

I hear purring. Your cats do all the work. wink.gif
I saw them working.

Who does most of the work? by POAC.

I'd like to echo the sentiments expressed by Juliette and the others on this thread. This is my first forum too and it's gratifying to see that there's intelligent, caring, good-humoured and above all informed life out there.

It feels like it would be nice to hang out with you guys, have a few beers, a barbecue maybe, listen to some good music.

Then go and tear down the walls.

Keep up the good work.

Ashley

Thanks Ashley! Beer and barbecue???? We'd get a long great! I'm from Kansas City and when I moved up here I had to buy my own offset smoker because they don't have real barbecue up here. The regional specialty here is "broasted" chicken. Which is nothing to sneeze at, but it's nothing compared to K.C. style barbecue. When the POAC has a big enough audience, I plan on having an anual POAC barbecue and beer bash.

This is the smoker we bought when we hosted a group of RAGBRAI people. They all chipped in with us for it. We've been using the heck out of it ever since. Barbecue is something that I geek out on as much as I do about governement/corporate reform.

I know our Aussie cousins are keen on 'barbies' too, but that's an awesome-looking piece of kit!

There is nothing like eating outdoors with a few glasses and some convivial conversation. To me, that's what life's about, not all this other selfish, greedy crap.

Woody Guthrie's guitar used to have "This machine kills Fascists" on it; your beautiful barbecue should have "This machine makes friends"!

Cheers,

Ashley

P.S. What do you put tin your sauce?

POAC
For the sauce, I used to use a standard KC style, but now i use a locally made sauce.

it's very very good. Tomato based, kinda sweet, mildy spicy.

That's the best part!
Gadzooks!
I'd like to mention that our admins are also highly adept at very fast cooking. They bbq'd here last night. Troll. By the time you clean 'em, there's nothing left to eat.

Not much meat of a freeper troll.
They're pretty small, almost insignificant.
POAC
But they they aren't "tough" at all. =-)
