Hey everyone. I'm a native Tennessean and I have lived in Nashville for the past 10 years. I'm surrounded by the right/religious/neo conservative sludge that drives most of us crazy and absolutely no progressive talk radio to be heard (unless you count Coast to Coast w/ George Noory )

I went searching on the web for something I could listen to at work and that's how I found White Rose. I started listening to the archived Mike Malloy shows (LUV them) in the morning and others before I catch Randy Rhoades on Air America live.

I'm looking forward to joining in the forums........

Your story is similar to how I started the POAC. About three years ago I did an internet search for "liberal progressive online radio" and found a little outfit called I.E. America Radio and they carried Mike Malloy. I became an avid listener which brought me to the White Rose, where Ben archived his shows. That was the inspiration for me to start the Project for the Old American Century. Ben and I later became friends and we decided to share this forum.

And I'm also a HUGE Randi fan. I never miss her show.

Welcome Jeana. I am also a progressive from Tennessee. I grew up in Greeneville. It wasn't so hard being a liberal in the South back when I was young. The regressive redneck theologians pretty much kept quiet back then. At that time, they hadn't yet decided to take over the world and cause the End of Times.

Ahhhhh.. What I wouldn't give to have those days back. If the subject comes up.. I have no problem with telling anyone that I'm agnostic at best.... vehemently pro-choice and I hate bush to my very core. You would think that I had just grabbed the bible from under their arm and set it on fire and sprouted 3 heads while doing it. Yep.. sure is fun to be a progressive/liberal in TN

I love Al Gore. His father, Al Gore Sr. offered to help me get into the Air Force Academy. Alas, that was really my father's dream, and I decided not to take him up on the offer.

Shades of myself.

My parents were pals with the Captain of the Port of Portland.
And thanks to that freindship, I had a seat in the Coast Guard Acadamy.

But, the summer before my senior year, I discovered girls and pot.
That spring before summer they had dropped the draft 3 weeks before my birthday.
In the 3 simesters of my Sr year my grade point average dropped from 3.0 to 1.9.

Sometimes I have regrets, but then I do like who I am
and if any single thing were different, I'd be different.

I'd vote for him again in 2008, if he chose to run.

I absolutely love Al Gore. And hopefully having Al from TN will help make up for the fact that TN also produced that son of a bitch Frist.

I am truly hoping that Mr Gore will run in 2008. I haven't quite figured out the feeling here on Hillary running, but I can tell you without a doubt that I would NOT vote for her. She tends to give me the heeby jeebys on so many different levels (I know.. not very political.. but true.. )
