As some of you may have been aware, I from time to time have given a very hard time to a few of the conspiracy theorists,
of which there are many more than a few,

From this e-mail forum, (removed the name as I didn't get permission to post it) a very reasonable reply comes concerning my comments about manipulated weather, earthquakes and other tin foil hat phenomena.

QUOTE
I don't  have to wear a tin foil hat to know that the
Russkies have been working for about two centuries to
reclaim portions of Siberia via weather alteration
including the construction of the largest man made
lake the world has ever seen in Lake Bikal. And, I
don't have to imagine how our Cold War warriors might
have responded being so far behind in this area ...

The RICO stautes weren't written for coincidences.
They were written with crime family behavior in mind.
The monied want you to believe in the "invisible
hand." Is that not downright dellusional?

JFK threatened to nationalize the US steel industry,
signed EX O's to shut down the Vietnam War and
undermine the Fed, let Bobby go after the Mob, and
promissed not to invade Cuba. Is that not enough to
get anybody killed?

Like we didn't work with the Mafia in WWII?

Myer Lansky was a coincidence? Preston Bush? The plot
to overthrow Roosevelt?

Don't let the monied frame you out of the debate ...

By definition 9/11 was a conspiracy. Read Michael
Ruppert.

To this I felt the need to reply in kind.
It was well written, void of undue emotion and said their position quite well.
Since it was my prime time, late Saturday Morning, I feel that my reply was well done and worthy of sharing.

I for one, am not against conspiracy theory's as such.
Clearly they do exist, and they require the hard and diligent work of the active few to expose and bring them into the light.

My only point is this. The liberal half of America is developing a reputation of being associated with tin foil hats and an over abundance of conspiracy theorists. In such a situation, it's difficult to maintain credibility in general, let alone a theory that will ask the uninformed to maintain perhaps too much of a leap in faith to follow.

It is my personal contention that all of these theories need further investigation. However right now before us we are faced with an even far more basic and greater challenge.  Think for a moment about the future. In your mind project out 10, 20, 50 years and see what you see if the Corporate and Evangelical Neo-cons are NOT stopped!  This vision that I have should we fail to put an end to this far right wing agenda, in my minds vision it means the possibly very real end of America as we know it. And in which case, in this possible future police state, NONE of your conspiracy theories will ever see daylight!

In other words, placing your horse before the cart will not help us expose even the most reasonable of conspiracies.  I have been working hard to encourage a positive political outlook because I believe pessimism is a self defeatist attitude.  I have been working to put most conspiracy theories on hold because ANYTHING that distracts from, or diminishes Liberal Progressive Credibility hurts us all in this very real, and still very uncertain and undetermined fight.  I believe we need to take a position intellectually, politically, religiously, socially that will make it possible for both the liberal conservative and the moderate conservative to join us. And not because of any coercion or from choosing the lesser evil, but because we progressive liberals have and will continue to offer a viable alternative!  They will join us because it's reasonable and smart.

First things first!

1) Clean up the election process!
2) Remove the Republicans from Political Position.
3) Clean up the mess these ass holes have brought us IN OUR NAMES
4) Begin the process of understanding how these events came to pass,
and put into place safe guards so it can't happen again, because if we do not, they WILL be back!

Shortly a Reply from another on the list to my reply was received.

Sky of Mind,

I could not possibly agree more. You are exactly on the mark.

We suffer from a lack of leadership to focus our attention onto the
most urgent issues.

We all also have our areas of personal interest. Stripey is
interested in the weather theories as he loves weather.

I do not have much interest personally in seeing the iluminati as
the root of any of our current problems because i see neocons, fundy
religious orgs, DC thinktanks, corporate media as the big players.
But I can see how some folks are attracted to ideas that mesh more
with their individual world view.

The GOP foments some of the most absurd BS platforms that idiots in
red states feed on like cotton candy. Lots of libruls vote for and
endorse librul candidates because of misinfo and a very poor
understanding of the big picture.

I agree that we need to focus and work much more as a team. But
without leadership how do we do that?

We could create our own leadership.

Personally I submitted the Moyers article because I believe that
progressives are begining to lose support because we are attacking
the GOP rather than presenting alternatives and an agenda. We are
alienating a lot of the folks we want to swing into our camp.

But not everyone will agree with me.

This whole issue underscores why a party of minorities often comes
across as weak. We have 40 issues and a diverse party base. They
care about guns, gays and abortion even if those are non issues in
the public sphere.

Can we hone our message to 3 topics that 3/4 of americans will
support?

My friends, it really is time we Progressive Liberals come together!
Forget our personal views and individual values of importance.

This Country DESPEARATELY needs us, we Progressive Liberals,
RIGHT NOW!

We MUST settle on a message, even if we don't all agree with it 100%.
WE MUST BE THAT VIABLE ALTERNATIVE MOST OF AMERICA IS ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR!

We can't all be generals. None the less, you can lead by example!
