Just wounderin'. What kind of experiance do you have in politics? Were you ever a mayor or police chief or dog catcher. Did you have a political science major? Study politics in college? Worked on any campaigns? Run for anything. Or are you just a concerned citizen?

Damnit Billy! You promised not to blow my cover!

Jack, I've never held a political office. That's an impossibility since there are pictures of me floating around this world of me participating in debauchery on the level that would make Caligula blush.

I wasn't interested in politics until I read the PATRIOT act and Homeland Security bill. Then I looked up the history of bush's appointments and new something was terribly terribly wrong. The media wasn't covering the most horrible affronts to our representative democracy in the history of our country, so I decided that I had to.

That's why I don't align myself with any political party and have focused exclusively on government and corporate corruption. Lots of people (mostly my hatemail authors) accuse me of being a democratic supporter since so many of my headlines appear anti-GOP. The fact of the matter is actually, that the GOP is just trying harder to monopolize corruption, cronyism, and corporatism. Don't blame me man, I'm just the messenger. =-)

BTW, if you have a question for me, you'd probably be better off emailing me, since I don't always catch everything that goes through here.
POAC
You know. That bit about my past debauchery reminds me of a funny story.

First I have to set the premise:

I used to live in the Greewich Villagey part of Kansas City. Lots of artists and musicians. Very Bohemian, trendy, liberal elitist. Coffee houses, bars, art gallies, you get the idea. I was kind of a local celebrity. I was making my living from my paintings at he time and could most of the day, every day, be found sitting in the back of a certain coffee house working in a sketchbook, drawing or painting the people in the coffee house. Rarely drinking coffee, but drinking stout most of the day and getting pretty well tanked. I was like a Van Gogh/Toulousse Latrec type character. (Horrible stormy relationships with women certainly not excluded)

Anyway, next door was a modeling agency. How convenient. So that's where I pulled from to find dating partners. Funny thing is, I detest the whole modeling culture/industry and this deep sensitive liberal bohemian artist has almost nothing in common with the shallow "beautiful people" that came through those doors. But it was something to do, ya know.

Anyway, this modeling agency basically pimped out their aspiring models to events and funtions that wanted a gaggle of hotties milling about. Some business owner would be hosting a party where the media was going to be covering it, and through the network, would hook up with the modeling agency owner and he'd send his models to attend. It was really shady. Basically, it was pimping. These girls were young, niave, impressionable, and foolish. So you'd have business owners hosting a party in the VIP room of some fancy club, the girls would attend thinking that they were "special" and might be getting a leg up on the competition by mixing it up with these older wealthy types. The older wealthy types would ply the girls with drinks and cocaine (the lifeblood of the KC modeling industry) and take advantage of these young women. It totally disgusted me.

Now remember, I would spend all day at the coffee house painting or drawing and drinking stout. By the time evening came around, i was pretty well besotted. I'm Kansas City Irish, and I meet the stereo-type quite well. i drink a lot of stout and get a little crazy. I may fight, climb something, or just try to create some action where there is none. Well, one of the models I'd been sleeping wi....errr, I mean DATING came in and told me how they were going to one of those VIP parties that night. I found out where, and when some of my rowdy KC Irish friends showed up, we decided to crash the party.

So we went to the club, had plenty of drinks, chatted it up with the girls, and as it got later in the evening, the atmosphere of creepy older men and niave young girls really stated to annoy my frinds and I. And i got this crazy idea. "Let's make fun of these people and just see how far we can take it." i also wanted to see how much we could get away with. No remember, i'm an artist, so i happened to have a white pastel in my pocket. The guys kept taking off with the models to a private corner and doing lines, so my friends and I took that pastel and drew great big ass white rings around our nostrils and my buddy, Chappy, even drew a big streak across his face. A couple girls who knew me knew it was a joke, but nobody else did. We waited and waited and nobody said a thing. We just acted like we didn't know we had these huge fake coke rings on our nostrils. Finally I went to the bartender to order another drink and she just looked at me and smiled and whispered "You need to wipe your nose. You've got bloww all over it." I thanked her and went back to the table.

So the evening progresses, we're all pretty toasted and I'm sitting there with big fake coke rings on my nostrils and my arms around two runway models. About that time, the paparazzi shows up. There's this little society rag in KC, I think it's called The View, and all they do is go to trendy spots and snap pics of locals and publish it in a weekly rag. So they come up and snap a pic of me, fake coke rings, models, and all.

AND THOSE FUCKERS PUBLISHED IT!

The caption was something like "Local Artist, Tj Templeton, enjoys the finer things of Kansas City at trendy Crossroads hotspot, The Velvet Dog".

So there's one photo I know of that'll keep me out of politics.
BillySHEARS
That was really good Tj.
It would be interesting to hear how others got politically involved..
Here's what lit my fire. It might show why I was attracted to

Strange Days Indeed - Most Peculiar Mama

The world was shocked and glued to the TV coverage the morning of
September 11, 2001. The real pain came in watching the loved ones of the
missing spouses, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters. I could hardly sit
through an interview without welling up with tears.

Just a few years before that horrible day, The Republicans were rabid
in their attacks on President Clinton, then on Al Gore. This blatant hate
and unwarranted action the Right wing put this country through made
me very angry. On 9/11 my attitude had to be put aside. This was very serious,
I felt I needed to forget the past decade and support my new President
despite how he arrived in the oval office.

Then by pure happenstance, I stumbled on Michael Ruppert's
"From The Wilderness" website. What an eye opener!

I listened to a speech he gave about the events leading up to 9/11 and
what Bush and his ilk knew. As an American I was so hurt emotionally.
But Ruppert stated too many facts to ignore this betrayal.

The next revelation came with the stunning doctrine of PNAC!

Gee...many are now influential in the Bush administration!
Here is an excerpt from a letter sent to President Clinton in 1998.

"We urge you to articulate this aim, and to turn your Administration's
attention to implementing a strategy for removing Saddam's regime
from power. This will require a full complement of diplomatic, political
and military efforts. Although we are fully aware of the dangers
and difficulties in implementing this policy, we believe the dangers
of failing to do so are far greater."

The dots were starting to connect. 9/11 was just what these neocons
wanted and needed. They allowed the slaughter of 3,000 people
on that September morning happen!

IT'S A PLAN THAT EXISTED BEFORE!...

America’s top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent
people and commit acts of terrorism in US cities to trick the public
into supporting a war against Cuba in the early 1960s.
Approved in writing by the Pentagon Joint Chiefs,
Operation Northwoods even proposed blowing up a
US ship and hijackingplanes as a false pretext for war. [ABC, 5/1/01]

We must stop the madness before it's to late.

Oh ya...Lennon was right.
These are indeed STRANGE DAYS.
