I might garner alot of hate on this board (or maybe just ignored altogether), but just from personal observations before and after this election, I have lost all my faith in the party of FDR. Why is it that it is Bina Becker pointing out voting irregularities in Ohio, and eons of voter fraud in Florida, and NOT the Kerry people? Why is it that Bev Harris at the forefront of investigating voter fraud and finding TONS of it and NOT the Kerry lawyers? Why is it that I read more from regular columnists and everyday voters that Social Security, overtime, and college loans are being axed for regular people and NOT the Kerry campaign? Why is it that I hear from documents like "Frontline" from PBS how Bush's administration strategically fucked up this Iraq war so badly that even if you were FOR the war you had disagree with how badly it was executed and NOT from the Kerry people? Obviously you can see where I am going with this, and fellow Democrats, I don't say it trying to alienate the party. I only say it because I think its fair to ask, why have Democrats stopped giving a voice to US and stopped listening to US about our problems and examining the merits of them and THEN deciding whether or not to support or reject them? Maybe 2004 was stolen, maybe it wasn't. But as someone said on the board earlier, it's stupid to contest the election AFTER the fact when Kerry had a YEAR to use his platform to publicize these problems. Tons of Stanford, MIT, and Cal professors that publicly said the electronic voting machines were dangerous for democracy. You also had Bev Harris mobilizing a whole group just devoted to this. Did Kerry even BOTHER to listen to her or anyone from blackboxvoting.org? The only time I've seen a Democrat actually say something of substance was when Al Gore spoke at Georgetown University, citing a number of new sources to blast the Bush administration. I'm so sick of this new Democratic strategy, the "yknow little ignorant voter, u just vote okay, don't worry about no corruption or wrongdoing, I'll handle the rest." Maybe that sounds a little extreme, but its' how I personally feel the Kerry/Edwards team treated these problems. Even if they couldn't get the decision to ban vote machines w/o a paper trail (WAS there even an appeal?) or to fight the provisional ballots limit in Ohio, they should have went ape shit on the news about how unfair that was, and how it was intentionally obscuring the results, but they didnt. This is no longer the party of FDR that knew economic security was a right, not a privilege to the 90% that make up middle and lower class, and talked in SPADES about it. It's the party that puts its finger on its' lips, and sez 'shhhhhhhhh' at a crowd shouting it just caught a Republican with his pants down.

Speaking of jokes,

Okay, I admit it--I'm whistling in the graveyard here. Like all the Boondocks 'toons, this one has a hard, crunchy grain of truth in it, I'm sorry to say. Until Obama and Co. become the progressive NORM of the Democratic party, instead of Repug Lites like (barf) Joe Lieberman and the DLC, this sort of fiasco is just what you can expect more of.
