- Hey all!!My name is Andrew Mullen, and I live in Oakland, CA. I am currently working at Kaiser Permanente (it pays the bills) and doing post-production work on the side. In any case, I am living in the US until November 2008, when I plan to move somewhere else... top choices so far include New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Ireland. Already done lots of research and am now in the process of saving money and investing in GOLD... thats right... gold... All you people who simply expect that your money will be worth something in the near future, just go to your local supermarket and see how much you are paying for simple things like mushrooms and bananas and meat. Are you paying more or less than a month ago, 6 months ago, a year ago? Are you making more money? CHANCES ARE YOU AREN'T!!! and neither am I, which is why Gold is a great international investment.
I am very concerned with primarily three topics:
1. Proliferation of nuclear technology and the rapid decline of the NPT (thanks mostly to GWB)
2. Our school systems and levels of education in our country, and
3. The economy, and how confusing and convoluded it is.
First and foremost, I must mention that I beleive that the answer to nearly all long-term (and most short-term) problems is education and access to information. The better informed people are the better decisions they will make.
I am a huge supporter of nuclear technology and the benefits it can create, but am also very aware of the terrible destruction it can bring as well. Something I beleive from the bottom of my heart is this: "The more good something can potentially do, the more potential for evil it has. The amount of good and evil one thing can produce are directly, but inversly, proportional". So, nuclear energy, with its nearly unlimited potential for good has also a nearly unlimited potential for evil, which was shown just over 60 years ago by the good-ol US of A...
And finally, what the hell are the people of the world thinking? MONEY DOESN'T REALLY EXIST!!
Think about it... how much is that green piece of paper/cloth with Lincoln's face on it worth, and I mean REALLY worth? Its worth about as much as the paper it's printed on. NOTHING IS THERE TO BACK IT UP EXCEPT FOR OVER TWO TRILLION DOLLARS OF GOV'T DEBT!! All this "money" talk brings me to my point that all your "net worth" is only a long string of 1's and 0's floating around some computers somewhere... BUY GOLD!!! (before the Chinese get it all!!)My prediction when I was 10 years old: "China will take over the world, probably invade the US, within 50 years." That was 15 years ago, so we have 35 years more to go. Looks like I might just have been right...
