Vanishing Middle

I'm one of the people who checks this site first thing in the morning Guess I'm just a news glut not really radical left or right but I admit I can be rabid about the Bill of Rights and very loud in person if the case warrants. I try to be polite in posts I don't see the point in resorting to bashing people it gets nowhere and makes a mess of boards

I started a blog called The Vanishing Middle (Class) http://vanishingmiddle.blogspot.com/ in July when I got fed up with letter writing and phone calls to Media and Politicians with no results, although I think I made the Gov watch list eek.gif. I'm a transplanted New Yorker living in a very rural area of WV. Politically I'm Independent too much garbage out there to follow one leader so I search a lot and read a lot to form my opinions.

Guess thats it hope to have some good conversations with you all

Welcome vanishing middle,

I am a newbie here too.

Nice group overall. The Mods and Admins have proven esp helpful and supportive.

EXCELLENT news staff, must be a dozen in the news dept at least!!

I dunno how much you know about the protocol here, but I would suggest you ask a Mod for an inside scoop on what up and down here.

Enjoy!

The inside scoop on what? Why?
What are you talking about?

Thanks for the Welcome Panda

A few months back a neighbor and I were talking and I asked her if she knew what the Downing Street Memos were, naturally she was clueless, as are most of the locals here in rural WV. Not one paper reported about them and the main local channels here (if you can get them) are mainly Sinclair owned. So many people here only have access to Fox and the local ABC affiliate of Sinclair Corp, forget the Newspapers their a joke, it just pissed me off. How do you make a fair judgment of any issue if you know only one side about it or haven't even heard about it?

I started to write to every paper in the State asking them why they have blacked out news coverage of this important issue, waited a few days for a reply, then wrote again. It took a long time but finally ABC mentioned it but the report was almost laughable stating that President Bush and Mr Blair had rebuked the reports as out of context - 'nuf said. I won't even get into the bombardment of letters to Senators and Congressmen although always polite and inquiring thats what probably put me on the "list".

Even though my family is in the Northeast no one in my family had heard of the Downing Street Memos until I told them. I was going to start a Free Newsletter with the help of a few neighbors but the cost would have been too much. I started a Blog for a place to express my views and for family and friends to go to read reports they don't normally get to see in their everyday media,

I'm the Black Sheep non conformist of the family so I go where none have dared to stray wink.gif . My sister tells me she goes to my blog to read before her kids get up to find out whats going on in the world. How sad is that?

I blog because it's an extension of my voice.
An extension that can potentially reach millions.

I blog in an attempt to raise the base line contempt for this administration!

I blog because this is my scream.
My rage in the darkness, and the Blog is my solitary candle.

Even if no one see's it, I do!

Howeverm judging by the comments from Freepers,
it gets seen plenty!
