sky of mind
Just lookin for your opinion.
Wondering how you all feel about your role as progressives,
and your feelings on the political pulse of America.

And trying to figure out how to do polls.
So if I mess it up, forgive me.

Sky,

Truthfully I don' t know how anyone with a functioning brain and half a heart could be anything BUT a progressive right now. Still look where it is getting us, it's like beating one's head into a wall....excuse me.... wall.gif ....ah, that's better!

Seriously though, I'm really saddened by how things are going and amazed at how there hasn't been any action such as impeachment called for against Bush or legal action taken against any of his cronies. The facts are out there for people to see and yet they seem so lethargic and numb, what IS going on, anymore? mad.gif dry.gif

Well I'm not going to give up, I'm trying to be optimistic, maybe things will start to look up for us soon. More public interest is starting to generate around the Conyers issue and I'm GLAD that it finally IS! Proud that he's from my state, too, btw! cool.gif

Just waiting to see what will happen next, hoping that things will start to change.

I think too many people are too busy with life's daily struggles to really care about what's happening to their country under the Bush regime.

It's unfortunate, but there's also a growing divide among Americans who think America is on the wrong path and those who LIKE the fact that America has become a bully nation.

The rich are getting richer, and the richest among the rich are becoming the new Elite..those who have prospered so much during the Bush years.

PERHAPS the tide is beginning to turn, with the Downing Street memos, the unpopularity of the war, the economy, etc....but I'm looking to 2006. If the nation shows it is disgruntled with the Bush republicanism in the 2006 elections, then I will probably say that more Americans care, because only when Americans care, will the media get their collective asses off their cushy seats and start to report something other than cheerleading songs and the only way half of America is going to stop chanting along with the cheerleaders.

I can't help it, but I honstly feel anyone Republicans are either stupid or soulless.

I know I shouldn't generalize, but I just cannot rationalize why anyone would supprt their warlike nature, econmic policies,

Do people care about politics? Most of them no. All they care about is how they're personally doing, when it's going bad for most people and they see no sign of change, then they get involved. When things are going good though they get complacent and we get morons like Dubya in office. It's mostly a matter of time, most people don't have it and can't invest any to do the research themselves. This is what the media's supposed to help with but as we all know they've decided to suck up to the conservatives.

I live in knuckly-drag gulch. People here love Bush and are cheering him on. It is unbelievable!

I agree most people are not interested in politics but only what feels good to them. Kicking global ass feels good to too many people.

So much for crappy schools, textbooks, media, everything that people base their opinions on. The local library will NOT carry anything liberal. It is deemed 'not appropriate' and besides, I am told, no one would read it.

And that is the BAD part of living in the country.
