Perhaps you have hear this. During the RNC, a reporter asked bush if you can win the war on terrorism and bush said

"I don’t think you can win it. But I think you can create conditions so that those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world.”

I think that is exactly right but why doesn't he follow that? I have always been amazed by that fact bush said that. It is always a big deal when bush says something right.

Winning the war on terrorism is like winning the war on drugs. Impossible. Neither one can ever be completely "won". As along as there are any fanatics left in this world who are willing and happy to blow themselves to smithereens to get their 72 virgins in Paradise from Allah, the war is still on. As long as there are any fuckin' pushers left selling their shit to willing users, the war is still on. Sad but true.

And it's so convenient... It's so lucrative

Think of the positive cash flow for military contractors and their subcontractors.

I think we should just merge the "Drug War" and the "War on Terrah" and just call it WarWar. Hey, WarWar makes it sound like it'll never end. I say that those swarthy brown devils would be just as happy with 72 choice recreational pharmaceuticals. Besides, the Religious Wrong would never go for that whole virgin thing anyway. They're all for making war and not love, right?

Think of how much more money our patriotic military hardware suppliers can score if we just put our heads together and streamline the whole process for them. Hell, why make them work? They deserve to make a handsome profit.

No doubt about that, Seamus. A perfect example of that was our entry into WW II. We went from a deep deep depression to a booming economy almost overnight. War has a funny way of doing that, doesn't it?

That can't possibly be true because drugs and alcohol are forbidden by the Koran. Oh wait, killing innocent people is also forbidden by the Koran, isn't it? Never mind!

Unless of course you can point me to the passage where Jesus Christ said it was ok to kill your brother and steal his goods because you think you deserve HIS goods more than he does... so where IS that passage, wiseguy?

Thou Shalt Not Kill.

Thanks, Stripey.
The Bible was my "link" too.

Why do neocons want to post the 10 Commandments everywhere, but they don't want to live by them?

We want to live by them rather than post them.

Hmmmmm

Wonder which Jesus would rather we do?

So what's that login again wingenheimer?

haha.

Got any other 'analogies' that serve far better as non-sequitirs than they do as an effective counter with anyone other than a 'conservative'?

Odd thought processes often lead to weak counter arguments. Lame ones too.

I see you're one to compare apples and oranges.

But since you've mentioned it. In your valued assessment, do you feel that our present economic model/algorithm is so successful it needs wars to prop it up?

The WW2 economy was booming? What was all that rationing about?

I see you want to do more of the Apples and Oranges thing.

Have you read your "Judeo-Christian" texts recently? I'd say that they're just as, if not more contradictory than the Qur'an.

Are you saying that Terrorism and Illicit Drug Trafficking have nothing to do with economics?

You can win only if you know how.. In the case of COO-COO BANANAS knowing or anyone of his COO-COO BIRDS knowing how to fight a war or any type aggressive action it will never be done.. We will never win another military action.. I will rephrase that.. only if we have ten thousand troops fighting one man with a slingshot.
