He can stand there on the Senate floor, as he is this very moment, and he can go on and on and on about how vile Bolton is but the man (Voinovich) STILL voted YES to allow the nomination out of committee. As far as I'm concerned he can shove it up his ass.
Bolton will get confirmed and Voinovich is responsible for what happens to the UN.

That's just great George, there you stand like a blowfish spewing how awful and dangerous Bolton is but the facts speak for themselves....YOU VOTED YES.

I don't think that that'll get his attention.

Use a Croquet Mallet...

Wait a minute. It was allowed out of committee without a recommendation.

Yes, he should have voted 'NO' in committee, but he said at the time he didn't have the facts yet. Our people in Congress are constantly being asked to vote on things without the facts to work with.

Voinovich pleaded with his fellow Rs to check out what IS known before voting. He is going to vote 'no' himself.

With the kind of pressure the rightwingers are putting on the Rs, that takes guts!

Give the man a break--we will have pleanty more things to get mad at him about, let's thank him for his speech on this one. We can give him that much, eh?

Fair enough...but actions speak louder than words. If he had such qualms he should have had the conscience to vote no in committee.
Sorry, but I've been disappointed too many times.

I'll buy that Voinovich is a decent guy inside but he could have shut the door on this and didn't.

Yes, he could have. He missed most of the hearings and didn't get the full information--heck the committee still hasn't gotten the full information.

I say, when someone actually does someting that takes courage, they should get credit for that action. And I believe this vote he intends to make is an act of courage.

If he is persuaded to vote 'yes', I will give you an apology. We have all been disappointed over and over again and we ain't seen nothin' yet. But I stand with the feeling I had when I heard that speech, he deserves credit for telling the other Rs to take a close look and vote no.
