Being a fan of Professor Ward Churchill (yes, you read right), I came across this ugly article by Ilana Mercer on AntiWar.com :

I really expected to see something good come out of that web page. But what Ilana wrote about WC proved I was (once again) wrong about judging a book by its cover. I was upset with what she wrote and with her joining the witch-hunt against WC so I decided to send my comments to "backtalk" where you can write to the ADMIN and Editor of antiwar.com. Those guys, without responding to my comments which were fair and without profanities, decided to forward my -mail to Ms. Mercer herself who in turn very promptly responded. And so began an exchange of opinions, in say, 10 or so e-mails within two days between me and her. I found it funny that she decided to add some of her readers comments to her webpage ILANA MERCER - Barely a Blog. At that time, the page had a different title and - get this - she didn't post my comments nor did she mention my name at all. I guess my arguments were too good for her - as she now calls it - Barely a Blog. Looking back today, I see she has actually changed those commentaries she did post. What a b**ch !! Not only did she surpress my comments by keeping them off her webpage and off that of antiwar.com, she chose to post comments by more angry and less literal WC fans.......... changing things as she goes along. You read it right : she has changed the postings from that day to fit her scheme and mood of today, since I last read them. By flowing with the stream and joing in on the anti WC Witch-hunt, Ms. Mercer is selling her otherwise sweet soul to the anti-academica fascist regimists.

As I see it, Ilana Mercer is your new Coulter. Keep an eye out for the Witch and beware of "friendly" looking web pages such as antiwar.com.

She sounds like the letter-to-the-editor editor at our local newspaper. This b*** changes the wording of the letters to say what she wants, not what the writer wants. I have been amazed to see my name on proadministration tripe as a letter to the editor. I had no idea I admired Bush so much until I read it in the local newspaper.

And you are right, beauty is such a surfice thing. Does she have an Adam's apple too?

One slight correction to my initial posting : antiwar.com actually has posted my first mail to Mercer. They even kept the links I sent. It just took them a long long time to post it and I honestly didn't see it until after the fact. Mercer's reply posted thereafter is also her initial reply only. Although I hit her with some very good argumentation, her initial reply was short and not to the point. The point is, the newspaper or the webpage will always alter your postings and your words to fit there scheme. And looky there, your name is on it. Quite upsetting as it is basically an alteration of the truth. What get's me is that antiwar.com will post crap like that of hers. Well okay, it's not crap, it's right-wing propaganda....to some extent. She does her job quite well and she's very good at it no doubt about it. Her job in this case was to dig at WC's identity in order to get him removed from CU in Boulder as part of the overall effort to stifle him altogether. He speaks the truth and that's not going down well with most folks.

As for the Adam's Apple, I dunno and I really don't wanna find out.
