I am new to this board but not to posting. I am a life long democrat, but have grown tired of the same old BS every year out of both parties, and I have drifted to the right over the years. Both parties seem to stand more for their doners then their constituents. People on the right and left tend to attack each other and ignor or deny the problems witin their own political movements. I hope that this site (unlike democraticunderground) allows people to disagree with the left's messege of the month.
Peace

Most definitely. If there's one thing that the Democrats need, it's a makeover, and constructive criticism is the way to go. There are many members here who are growing disgusted with the Democratic party as well.

That being said, the Democratic party is drifting more and more to the right, and that's what angers a lot of people here. That and their message isn't resonating. There are plenty on the left who are disgusted with the Democrats, myself included.

And Democratic Underground's becoming more and more of a Koolaid bar. One of our more respected members recently got banned there for speaking out against Kerry.

Welcome aboard, and good luck in finding what suits you best.

Welcome Deompublican, but why move to the right, don't you think that we have to much of that already, look forward to your posts.

Welcome, Demopublican.

Whether or not we agree on various subjects, it will be good to have your perspective, especially since you're coming from DU. About the only things we don't like here are trolls. biggrin.gif

Demopublican, good to have you here. We need more independent thinkers like you to help balance out all of the extreme political partisanship this country is experiencing. One thing that really steams my beans is trying to have a rational debate with someone who blindly marches like a sheep in total and loyal lockstep with one political party or the other. You know the type of partisan I'm talking about, a person who will zealously defend an indefensible position and will never ever concede or admit that they and/or their beloved party is ever wrong about any issue. The Repubs are just as bad as the Dems and vice versa. Neither party can claim the high ground in morality or any other standard. Scoundrels and rascals abound and run amuck on both sides. In most cases, when you cast a vote for someone, you're only voting for the lesser of two evils. Just my opinion.

Hello there demopublican. That's a mouthful. As is republicrat.
Whatever the handle, your opinions are valid and welcomed.

I beg to differ on the need to veer right. WE haven't changed...our "image" has been reframed by the MSM as out of mainstream thinking when we ARE mainstream thinking. We are the true moderates. Liberal is the correct word but has lost its meaning due to twisting, altering, spinning and regurgitation.
I'm sort of moderate. At times.

We have to take back the arguments and stay focused.
Equal opportunity for ALL.
Raw Deal Republicans are ripping us off.
Cheap Labor Conservatives are selling us off to the highest bidders.
Liberals aren't expected to fight back.
We've run out of cheeks.
Things have changed.

Firstly, welcome, Demopublican.

I don't post much, but mostly browse, and when something catches my eye put my thoughts down.

I would love to hear your thoughts on our "Liberal Democrats" here in the UK, they've been around a while and are now at their strongest thanks to the war (they were the only main party to stand against it by the way).

Oh, REAL Neo Con is representative of my veiw on the "Neo Cons" as you know them, don't be put off, I have a mixed veiw of America, most views I have are on your nation's forign matters rather than internal, so don't be supprised if you lose me over talk of social security ...etc...

If you ever need help on research, on UK issues, don't be affraid to ask, I'll be more than happy to help
