It just occurred to me, with the absence of Juball and Abell, and the rapid banning of moronic trolls, it seems I am currently the most conservative person on the board.
It's a disturbing thought.
I guess I had better start brushing up on my talking points.

Interestingly, the stealth assumption behind your statement seems to be that moronic trolls are conservatives...

Whether they are conservatives or are merely pretending to be conservatives is not strictly relevant.

Many trolls here? I haven't actually seem them so far. Apart from our buddy Loganthor, which was months ago.

Actually, I was referring to the Paul trolls who claimed they were progressives.
And many of our trolls are conservative because that's the type that like to troll on a left leaning board.

There's the occasional Ronald infestation, but it's a shame we lost Jubal and Abell. They were actually real conservatives, not the kind of trash like Loganthor or Ron.
Still, such is life.

IMO, as a nascent geezer with limited knowledge of internet terms, a troll need neither be conservative nor liberal, or even at odds with the philisophical genre of the forum. Rather it is one who disrupts the quality of discourse by being contentious or defensive for its own sake. It might not even be a conscious effort to do so, but rather an inevitable manifestation of the individual's personality. It seems to often be caused by the insecurity that results from a transparent attempt to present oneself as something one probably isn't.

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)Edit.....
I might add that we also tend to see them as people who post as if they were some internet billboard with a message to sell. That they continue with that message even when every single aspect of it has been completely debunked.

It is also common practice to just talk about your candidate/platform/website/soft drink because every time you type it in, it ads another link to search engines.
That's why Ron Paul supporters will show up commenting about how perfect he is on totally unrelated forums.
