A Car That Gets 150mpg? Hell Yes We Can.

It’s not getting enough attention, but the comprehensive energy plan Obama debuted yesterday includes this audacious goal:
Put 1 million Plug‐In Hybrid cars – cars that can get up to 150 miles per gallon –
on the road by 2015, cars that we will work to make sure are built here in America
And Obama backs it up with incentives to Detroit, as well as a generous $7,000 tax deduction for consumers.
The reason we don’t have 150mpg cars right now isn’t because we can’t solve the technical problem. Does anyone really believe that the country responsible for the Internets and the moon landing can’t improve on a 19th century technology? Of course not.
No, the reason we don’t have 150mpg cars is a failure of leadership by a corrupt ruling class that’s been co-opted by big business interests. Case in point, the people who will do everything they can to stop the 150mpg car are the same people who want to make John McSame the 44th President of the United States.
The choice is clear. If you want to keep burning your hard-earned money at the gas pump, vote Republican.
