"We can\'t keep failing companies in business, but we can go find two new jobs to replace any one that may go away." At the 15 second mark.

In context My Man Mitch might be talking about state Government finding new jobs to bring to the state to replace jobs that have gone away, but I don't think it comes across like that.

There is no doubt that if this were a Democratic candidate making the statement, the MSM would be replaying it endlessly and Pat Buchanon and Michael Smerconish would be railing on about how it demonstrates how out of touch elitist Democrats are on Hardball this afternoon.

Even if the he is talking about the state finding two new jobs to replace one, it sounds like he is saying people should stop whining about their good job going away, because My Man Mitch can find them two new jobs to replace the one they lost. What's he talking about? Tax breaks for big corporations to build more McDonalds and Wal-Marts to replace the manufacturing jobs that are going away?

When John Kerry made the comment about getting C's in college and getting stuck in Iraq, context didn't matter. Why should it matter in this case? It's a dumb statement to make in a campaign commercial.
