I want to announce that I am leaving POAC as of today. Its been fun here but I feel compelled to leave now because I can no longer tolerate certain things I have seen here. What did it for me is when Obama supported this new FISA bill and instead of being condemned for it, a justification is being made for why he did it, and I am attacked and condemned because of my outrage over that. You all can do anything you want and believe anything you want. This is not what I came here for. Bye.

It's also a shame that Obama caved, but then, what do we really expect from politicians ?

It's also a complex and confusing piece of legislation.

We're knee-deep in the muck, and Obama has a long way to go to get to the top of the pile, where he can really make use of the controls in the driving seat.
Every thing he does will be scrutinized by the bushbots and the connedservatives, as well as by the independents and ordinary Americans who are trying to find some reason not to vote for him that doesn't reveal their ignorance or racism.

Damn, I sound like I'm justifying caving in to fascism.......

It's very seldom that anyone here's been attacked for expressing an opinion, and I think most of us consider those attacks to be bad form. It's only your baiting and personal attacks directed at Sky that are annoying.
Your opinions are as worthy of consideration as any. Why do you think he voted for it?

If we expect to acheive a greater democracy, we all have to rise above partisan hackery and small-mindedness and be willing to seek what is best through open discussion, rather than pushing egotisitcal agendas.

I haven't read the lot of your posts (I'm new), but I would hate to see you leave this site /discussion. We need all the free-thinkers we can get our hands on to contribute to civil discourse.

We are all programmed by our media and politicians to bicker and argue and shout down ideology (instead of discuss) . Sometimes the best action is no action, when people are attempting to push your buttons for knee-jerk responses.
