Hey Usha! biggrin.gif
Good to see you. Welcome! cool.gif

Usha! Great to see you here. I've been on something of a sabbatical from posting as you know. But I may be posting more again, depends. Hope you find some congenial conversants for your interests. Whoever they may be will find you have much of a contemplative and wise nature to share. And at least you'll get a chance to hear some other perspectives on why Americans do or don't like Obama. smile.gif

Hey Usha! I remember you! We meet about three years ago! Our last conversation was in the thread "Take the Matrix Blue Pill or the Red Pill?" in February 2005. Glad to see you here! This is a beautiful website. And all trolls, there are very few, are kept in their cages and are very well behaved. So I am interested in what point you have evolved to being a long time blogger. I believe we all have evolved in our thinking.
usha
Hello all, I'm really happy to be here, thank you for the warm welcome!

Anti,

Of course I remember you, and very fondly, too! How have you been?

As for how have I evolved... I either need a whole lot of words to describe my process, or am at a lost for words. I am a mother now, and my daughter has added a very deep sense of serenity to my life. There are times where things get hectic, stressed even, but she is my biggest and most profound teacher, and just one look at her gets me in a state of sheer awe. Being a mother is the most important, and most fulfilling thing I've ever done. She and her father are the light in my eyes, heart, life and soul.

sky of mind
I recall when my son was born, in that delivery room as a bystander and how my life changed. (he's 18 now)
I don't mean simply that I became a daddy with all the joys and responsibilities that come with.
I mean that emotionally I was changed. That just as he was born, I was reborn.
usha
Sky of Mind, I couldn't agree more. When I talk about the birth of my daughter, I refer to it as the birth of a mother. And, when I see the impact she has on her father, how his heart melts when he sees her, and how she reacts to him, lighting up, smiling from ear to ear, I know that we're all exactly where need to be right now. I know there are people who think this world is going down the drain, and they could be right. But I think there is also an amazing counter-balance for this world's pain. Human beings are capable of great things, which could easily tip either end of the scale, so it doesn't matter so much what they're doing, but what their disposition is while they're doing it. I'm still contemplating this thought, though. smile.gif

As far as the world going down the drain, we ALL need to remember that sh*t sells. That the MSM, that for profit news industry has an obligation to it's share holders, to make a profit. To this end they will show us all the bad news we want, over and over and over again, because bottom line, it scares the crap out of us and when we're scared, we want to know all about it!

How many of us have been to Disney land, or any other amusment park? Which rides are the most popular? Why the ones that scare us so badly it's all we can to do not crap our pants! The MSM knows this and as a for profit undustry has no problem giving us our daily rollercoaster of news!

The TRUTH is that there is, has always been and will always be disaster just around the corner. What the MSM does NOT report, because no one really needs to MSM telling us, is that MOST of life is nothing but good. The MSM knows and doesn't care that reality, is exactly what ever YOU think it is.

Life really is awesome and good, and the moment you forget this reality and start thinking the end is near, spend a little time with some young kids, or go for a long hike and take the dog, or get family together for an afternoon bar b que. If ever you start to think we're slipping down a rat hole of no return, I'm saying you need to know this, and get your head out of the MSM news for profit bull sh*t emotional head vice, because you're being had.

In my humble opinion, it's as said in "Neverending Story" : "Because people without hope are easy to control." When we're scared, we lose hope, and when we lose hope, we're easy to control. It's why religions are still so successful. Real fear numbs, scared people don't question, and they remain inactive. I think that's why it's used so successfully by the powers that be. Somehow the rides in amusement parks seem like something else to me, as they're based on exhilaration, excitement and a sense of a rush, as in an addiction. But I cannot recall the times where I've been challenged by comments like: "Oh but there's injustice, there's poverty, there's hunger, there's war, do you shut your eyes to that?" whenever I've been expressing the immense beauty of our world and our existence as Universal beings. Of course I do not close my eyes, I know there's a lot of suffering, and it hurts me, as an empathic being, it affects me to the core of my humanity and womanhood. It's just that somehow, I grew to understand that emitting positivity, connection, oneness, love, gratitude, honour and respect into the world, works better, or rather, differently, than emitting the energy of injustice, poverty, hunger, pain, fear and war. Basically, I believe that when people think the end is nigh, it will be, for them. However, this does not have to be a reality for everyone. Somehow I think it really is but a choice, a choice that I made several years ago, which also led me to the decision of bringing another person into this world (by the grace of the Universe, of course). Had my experience of this life and this world, and of humanity as a whole, been a bad one, I certainly would not have done that.

It's been said, and I've repeated many times, that it's not the destination that really matters, it's the journey along the way. We know that there is good and evil in the world. The point is not to wipe out all evil, that's impossible. The point is what we do while we're trying to wipe out all evil in the world.

I have also said many times, that good and evil are two sides of the same coin. That one cannot exist without the other. Like lightness is the opposite of darkness, there can be no light, if there is no darkness. This means that however distressing the evil things in the world might be, they are as natural and important as are the good things in life. because without darkness, we have no reason to work for the light. Isn't that really what the Adam and Eve and the apple parable is all about? First the seperation of light from the dark, then later the awareness of lightness and darkness comes?

Again, it's not the destination that matters. It's the journey.

clap.gif Hi Usha, Buenos Dias! Bienviendos! Welcome to the site, I already like what you've posted to Sky and it seems like not only are you smart but a woman of character and grace! I look forward to learning from you! biggrin.gif
usha
Hi Tommy, THANK YOU smile.gif I'm still learning myself... and hope to be for a long time!

Sky,

redface.gif I actually received some inspiration that formed into a collection of pages that was sent into the Universe 2 years ago. Some people have the nerve to call it a book. laugh.gif It's exactly about what you're describing about good and evil, light and darkness. You say it's what we're doing while we're wiping out evil, I believe (for me personally) that my actions will make evil obsolete. If we continue to "fight" evil, we'll only create more of what we're presumably fighting. It's in the wording, by expressing the word "Evil," more of "evil" will be sent into the Universe. It's like saying: "Do NOT think of a pink elephant right now." Instead, when we think peace, our actions will be peaceful, and peace will be sent into the Universe as an energy.

It *is* the journey, rather than the destination, for me too. If I perceive to have reached a destination, I will automatically shift my direction and continue on my journey. It's natural to me. I'm a student of the Universe.
sky of mind
working against evil isn't always about fighting.
In fact, sometimes doing nothing is the most powerful thing of all.

I do like this discussion very much, Sky, but maybe we should move it elsewhere, as I just read the welcome-guidelines, and this section is for brief introductions and brief welcomes only? I wouldn't want to get on anyone's bad side on my 3rd day here... ! wink.gif

With that said, I'd like to add (before it slips my mind again) that fighting doesn't have to imply resistance either. Just look at the book The Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman...

That's one of my favorite books. I read it as a teen and it has effected my entire life.

Several books I counsider foundational.

Way of the Peaceful Warrior, Siddhartha, The Celestine Prophesies, the Power of Myth, Transformations of Myth Through Time, and The Little Prince. This is by no means a complete list. It's just those that I can think of right now.

Edit to add.....

It's quite all right for a thread to drift. Just as long as the drift is not about distraction or deception.
TJ, the POAC owner is quite liberal about this aspect because he understands that every answer comes with several good questions built in.
usha
Conversations with God.
No other series of books impacted my life like that one.
