Here's a 60 minute documentary that reflects the place pretty well. Interesting and entertaining too.

Just thought I'd share. smile.gif

European capital of culture 2008! eek.gif Heady stuff for the council who have managed to get the city 62 million pounds (that's 124 million dollars) in debt preparing for it despite the billions we got from Europe for that purpose. A nice gift to us council-tax payers for years to come... And we've only just finished paying for the last of self-serving wankers! (Sorry! I can rant for England about Liverpool's successive councils! lol)

Take out their financial blundering though, and there is quiet a nice vibe going on in the city centre right now.

Sorry you didn't get to see the links I posted. blink.gif
Macca as fab by the way! clap.gif

Ha! The BBC are no match for me! I laugh in the face of their UK only jingoism (or copyright laws ph34r.gif ).
I've added it to my vodpod.
You can find it here. Hope it plays for you!! unsure.gif

It playes 14 seconds of the intro, then quits saying there's a problem.

Maybe that IS the video? So, Liverpool has flying cars now eh? They always said we would have flying cars.

Firstly, let me just say; Shucks Tommy! Thanks. redface.gif
Secondly; I've got a sofa-bed that's all yours if ever you make it over here. Just say the world! thumbup.gif
And thirdly; I'm not sure how very British us Scousers (Liverpudlians) are. - We like to think of ourselves as very distinct in our culture as well as our accent, from the rest. You'll see why when you get here. wink.gif - Or I could begin history classes now if you like..? laugh.gif

Errrrr... Don't mean to cause any havoc, Mate, but you Scousers are extremely bri'ish... laugh.gif tongue.gif

But I would encourage anyone to go visit that part of the UK, especially, also a bit "higher up and to the left' ( laugh.gif ) to the beautiful Lake District. Some time ago, I lived in Kendal, and the surroundings are extremely inspiring!

Speaking of the British Isles, I just got back from Dublin where I discovered Jaffa cakes, they are awesome.

If by that you mean ignorant and really, really good at sarcasm I'm forced to agree. If, however, you mean ignorant and jingoistic... Oh, bollox, I'm forced to agree with that too. BUT, if you mean ignorant and royalist, I'd have to say only half of us are royalists! laugh.gif wink.gif

True that. The Lake district is stunning! As is pretty much all of the countryside in the north of England. - The whole of the UK's countyside is beautiful, in fact, but Northern England, Wales and the Highlands of Scotland are extra special. cool.gif

Sorry Usha, but I've never visited the Netherlands, so i can't return the compliment - my brother speaks highly of Amsterdam though! biggrin.gif

Well, Karen, if at any time you feel like crossing the big pond, we'll have room for you here in The Hague. As for Amsterdam, I think I'll pass, but you go right ahead. I understand as a sighseeing spot, it's quite *high* on the list! wink.gif

Thank you Usha! I may just take you up on that offer one of these days! smile.gif
As for Amsterdam, if I ever did go there it would be to visit the museums and galleries. I'm a very poor hippie in that respect! laugh.gif
