You seem to show up less and less here, which is completely understandable, but I think I speak for most of us when I ask for periodic updates on your progress...

We're here behind you, even though we can't vote for you - please fill us in!

will do as soon as possible.

Well, let's see.

The state party won't give me any financial help since this is my first run and it's a long shot.

The county party is just a social club that is really pissed that I'm running and actually working against me. while I was speaking at the last meeting, the treasurer even went as far as defending rumors that were circulating about my opponent and implied that I was the one who started them. The vice chair is a republican and the fundraising emails that they circulate mention the Dem nominee for Congress, but have no mention of me or my run for state rep.

I've foregone having the last two quarterly POAC fund drives in effort to spur participation in my campaign fund. My request for support has been seen by 15,000 people and I've got less than a dozen donations. So my campaign is not getting funded and we've maxxed out all of the credit cards just to buy food and gas.

Other than that, I'm rockin'.

Dang dude, but you sound like Clinton! (no offense please, it's just a joke!)

Keep in mind that a year ago not many people had any idea who Barack Obama was!

I have faith in the ability of You to triumph over evil. This is a big year. Things are going to change. Anyone paying four dollars a gallon is going to want someone that didin't create that situation holding the riegns. Once you're elected, there's nowhere to go but up. Stay connected - you'll never loose.

Take a deep breath...

It may also be possible that you aren't destined to win this campaign.
It could well be that this time around is your class room.

Pay close attention to the lessons grasshopper!

Well, so much for the fund-raising! eek.gif (Might e able to throw something POAC's way in the next week or two, all things being well.)

But tell us, what kind of response are you getting from the constituents?

Are you saying that the county Democratic party has been taken over by Republicans??

It seems to me that that would be grounds for revoking their charter, or something. Not that you need another battle but going over their heads might be an option. A milder approach would be a letter to the editor on the single-party situation. I was going to suggest a title but you have much more talent than me in that area.

Yeah, if I win the election I'll make it clear to the state party that I had to campaign against the county party. I may even go public with a letter to the major papers. If i lose, I don't know what I'll do. I have till November to decide.

Maybe, start planning for the next election cycle?
Maybe another office? Say, state Senator?

I don't want to try for Senate until I can get a House seat.

Of course it's your call.
I'm only saying that it's all part of the learning curve.
And as such, you can't lose!
